Reclaiming Bossy

Maahika Singh

Originally called Empower Sounds, the podcast has evolved and turned into Reclaiming Bossy! I’ve been called “bossy” many times in my life, often in a negative way. But through conversations with leaders, founders, and creators, I realised that so many of us share this “bossy” spark. I love the idea of reclaiming this word that’s been used to put people down and turn it into something empowering. Reclaiming bossy is a space to celebrate ambition, leadership, creativity, and the bold voices making things happen New episodes every monday 3

Are you overthinking? Try These 10 Antidotes to feel better …

If you are an Olympic over-thinker, this episode is for you. Give me 19 minutes and I will help you overthink less. These are 10 antidotes that have helped me as someone whose brain can spiral, analyse, catastrophise, and create five parallel universes before breakfast. In this episode, I share the exact exercises I come back to when I am spiralling, procrastinating, doubting myself, replaying conversations, or creating worst-case scenarios that have not even happened. In this episode, I talk about:  The worst case vs best case scenario exercise (and why setting a literal timer changes everything)The limiting belief reframe that exposes the story under the spiralWhy your environment is a cue for your thoughts and how to interrupt the patternSomatic regulation tools like EFT tapping, breathwork and movementWhy doing the one thing you are procrastinating on calms your nervous system instantlyvoice-noting or journalling before sharing with others (yes, I have a 57 minute voice note on my phone)Why getting out of your head and into your body is non-negotiableHow to build a “portfolio of proof” when imposter syndrome hitsWhy almost no decision is irreversibleThe 51 percent rule for making aligned decisions without perfect certainty Timestamps: 00:02:00 - 1: entertain your overthinking 00:03:00 - radical optimism  00:05:00 - 2: reframing limiting beliefs  00:06:00 - 3: write things down 00:07:00 - 4: the 51% rule 00:07:30 - 5: no decision is irreversible  00:08:30 - 6: collect data on yourself  00:09:20 - 7: don’t rush 00:10:40 - 8: leave your environment 00:12:10 - 9:  anxiety is physiological  00:13:30 - 10: create a procrastination list 00:18:30 - 11: acting is not completing Breathwork episode mentioned : https://youtu.be/RHavhtLMC7c?si=RQwvrxKNprYSKFrv If this helped you even a little bit, send it to a friend who lives in her head too. Work-Life Balance Is a Myth, Try This Instead…

What if I told you that you can actually have it all at once, just not in the way we have been taught to think about work life balance? If you constantly feel behind, overwhelmed, or like you are failing at having it all, this episode is for you. In 2026, in our hyper connected world, the traditional idea of work life balance feels like a constant tug of war. We have been sold this image of perfect equilibrium. But life does not work like that. In this episode, I unpack why chasing work life balance might actually be the thing keeping you stuck and burned out. I talk about a different way of thinking about time, energy, and focus that feels far more sustainable. Instead of trying to balance everything at once, we talk about flow. About seasons. About designing your life around your actual energy rather than an unrealistic standard. Inside this episode, I talk about   Why work life balance is outdatedHow to do a life audit and see what is actually draining youWhy life works in seasons and how to stop fighting thatHow to do an energy audit using the theatre theory for relationshipsHow to spot a calendar mismatch that is quietly exhausting youTimestamps  00:01:20 - do a life audit  00:02:30 - life works in seasons 00:08:30 - do an energy audit and the theatre theory 00:11:40 - calendar mismatch I hope this resonates and that you are kinder to yourself after this. A Bossy Girl’s Guide to Overwhelm: 9 Easy Antidotes to Feel Instantly Better.

This episode is a bossy girl’s guide to overwhelm… I get overwhelmed really easily as a neurodivergent founder juggling a business, a podcast, admin, friendships, life and about a million open tabs in my brain. This episode is for anyone who gets overwhelmed easily, is juggling a lot, feels mentally overloaded, struggles with perfectionism, or just wants some simple ways to feel better without fixing their whole life. My antidotes to overwhelm Prioritise when your brain feels full- I often get overwhelmed when it feels like I have too many tabs open in my brain and I can’t prioritise. So I make a mind map or a list, then I ask what’s most important and urgent. The stuff that’s important but not urgent goes straight into my calendar with a time I’ll actually do it. And the random stuff I either park or delete.Admin hour My to-do list used to be so long because I’d write every tiny task separately. Now I batch admin and emails into one slot if I can, so it doesn’t take over my whole day.Buffer time- I add buffer time now to catch up on work or life admin or the tasks that always take longer than you think. Sometimes overwhelm is literally just over-scheduling and underestimating time. The 70 percent rule. When I’m overwhelmed my perfectionism ramps up. But done well is better than unfinished and perfect. I learned this through uni as well. Sometimes you just need to submit the thing, not rewrite it 14 times.Community and company- I used to find asking for help so shameful because I hated feeling like a burden. But having people around is so important. Even little things like planning with a friend, voice noting, or body doubling when you need to get something done.Stepping out of your bubble- Sometimes we’re trapped in the same cycle of habits, thoughts, and behaviours. When I feel overwhelmed I take myself out of my environment and go somewhere new to do deep work or just reset my brain.Morning pages- I used to wake up with so much anxiety and start the day on a back foot. Now I do morning pages in bed, reframe, add gratitude, and it genuinely helps. You have to break the cycle because your brain will run the same thoughts on loop.Improve your environment- Aside from leaving your environment, how can you make your current environment better for you. Clean your space, declutter, and also clear your digital and emotional space too. Your camera roll, your contacts, your notifications. It all adds up.Energy audits- Bring them back. Overwhelm is often a sign you’re leaking energy somewhere. Who drains you. What energises you. What tasks make you heavier. What makes you lighter. Energy accounting is a real thing.Rest your body, don’t quit- Overwhelm is also felt in the body. If you feel overwhelmed, rest. Don’t quit. Rest, don’t quit. When I get overwhelmed, I used to shut down important projects. Now I try to take some things off my plate instead. Sleep more, eat better, regulate your nervous system, and come back to it. The Anti Hustle Business Model More Women Need to Know About

What if success didn’t mean burnout? In this episode, we’re talking about building a business that works for you, not against you. If you’ve ever felt resistance to hustle culture, rigid 9–5 structures, or the idea that growth has to come at the expense of your wellbeing, this conversation is for you. Sam shares her journey of creating a home-based domestic cleaning business designed around flexibility, and how that business later evolved into a franchising model that allows other women to build sustainable, values-led businesses in their own way. We talk honestly about courage, limiting beliefs, emotional regulation as a founder, self-validation, and what it really looks like to design work around your life (especially as a mum), rather than forcing your life to fit your work. This episode is especially for anyone who wants to create a business that feels aligned, calm, and supportive without buying into hustle culture. Timestamps 00:01:00 – The backstory: how the business began and why flexibility mattered from day one 00:06:00 – How did you find the courage to do it your own way? 00:12:30 – Limiting beliefs that show up as you grow 00:15:00 – How to regulate your emotions and stay sane as a founder 00:19:30 – Learning to self-validate instead of seeking external approval 00:28:00 – Being a founder mum 00:31:00 – Work-life balance (what it actually looks like) 00:37:00 – Franchising: a different way to grow 00:53:00 – What I wish I knew before getting into franchising Connect with Sam Linkedin : https://www.linkedin.com/in/sam-acton/ Domestic Angels: https://domestic-angels.com Connect with Me / The Podcast Podcast Instagram: @reclaimingbossy Podcast TikTok: @reclaimingbossy My Instagram: @maahika.s My TikTok: @maahika.s For collaborations and inquiries: team@empowersoundsmedia.com

A Bossy Girl’s Guide to Breakups : How To Get Your Spark Back ...

This episode is for anyone going through a breakup who feels like they don’t have a big sister to sit them down and tell them it’s going to be okay. I don’t have a sister myself, but I’m incredibly lucky to have the most supportive friends and community of bossy gals around me. A lot of the things I share in this episode are things I learned through those conversations, through experience, and through sitting with the discomfort instead of running from it. I wanted to share this episode for anyone else who is going  through heartbreak feeling overwhelmed, ashamed, or alone. In this solo episode of Reclaiming Bossy, I’m sharing my first-ever breakup,  Before I talk about how I’m working through the breakup now, I walk through the things that really helped me go into the difficult conversation with more regulation, clarity, and compassion. This isn’t about blame or revenge bodies or  glow-ups, or “bouncing back.” But on how to trust that everything will work out. If you’re heartbroken, trying to hold it together, or quietly grieving the future you imagined, this episode is for you. You don’t have to do this alone. You can do it with me. If you have a friend going through it right now send this episode to them as a digital hug. Why You Should Add Breath Work To Your 2026 Reset ...

If you add one thing to your 2026 reset, let it be breathwork. In this powerful and grounding episode, I’m joined by Lucy a breathwork and mindset coach who works with executives, leaders, and global companies to help them regulate their nervous systems, shift deeply ingrained patterns, and lead from a more embodied place. Lucy specialises in conscious connected breathwork, but in this conversation we go far beyond just one technique. We explore how different styles of breathing impact the mind, body, and nervous system, how breathwork connects to different centres in the body, and why real, lasting change isn’t just something you think your way into, it’s something you embody. This is a conversation about why breathwork is having such a moment, how breath can shift your mindset faster than thought alone, the link between breath, emotional regulation, and leadership, and why embodiment is missing from so many “mindset” conversations. This episode was something I personally needed as I build my 2026 reset, and breathwork is now a non negotiable practice I’m bringing into my year. If you’ve been doing the mindset work but still feel stuck, dysregulated, or disconnected from your body, this episode will change how you think about change itself.
