Sibling Transitions: Preparing Your Kid for a New Baby | Ep. 158

No matter how much you prep them, the transition to a new sibling is going to be hard. You can absolutely make it easier, and I did a lot of things that I think really helped, but there's no such thing as an easy transition for a kid whose whole world just changed. In this episode I'm walking through everything we did to prepare our older two for their baby brother, from how we talked about him during pregnancy all the way through what's been happening at home now that the newborn novelty has worn off and the reality of mom's attention being split three ways is setting in. I get into why we chose not to bring our kids to the hospital, what it looked like when they met him for the first time at home, and the one thing we say yes to almost every time because I think it's made a bigger difference than anything else. In this episode, we dive into: How to prep the kids before baby gets hereHow to prep the kids for you being at the hospitalHow to introduce them to the babyHow our transition is going now and more! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT LINKS •✨ Join our Mom Club on Patreon HERE ✨ 👈🏼 • Truly Free Marketplace Lifetime Membership + $10 gift card HERE • Get Dr. Kartik's book HERE --------------------------------------------------------------------------- sibling transition, preparing kids for a new baby, preparing toddler for new baby, new sibling adjustment, going from 2 to 3 kids, transition from two kids to three kids, big sister prep, big brother prep, welcoming a new baby, second baby transition, third baby transition, how to prepare your toddler for a new baby, preparing your first child for a second baby, how to help your toddler adjust to a new sibling, what to do when your toddler is jealous of the new baby, should I bring my kids to the hospital to meet the baby, introducing siblings to a newborn at home, first meeting between toddler and newborn, how to give your older kids attention with a newborn, toddler regression after new baby, toddler tantrums after new sibling, 1:1 time with older kids after baby, how to prepare a 2 year old for a new baby, how to prepare a 4 year old for a new baby, what to say to your toddler about the new baby, letting siblings hold the newborn, big sibling books for toddlers, sibling introduction newborn ideas, mom guilt with a new baby, splitting attention between kids, feeling stretched thin with three kids, my toddler is acting out since the baby came, my older kid is jealous of the baby, adjusting to being a mom of three, newborn and toddler at the same time, hardest part of having a second baby, hardest part of having a third baby, attention seeking behavior after new baby, even bad attention is good attention, pregnancy prep with toddlers, Learning to Mom podcast, Learning to Mom episode 158, Christian motherhood podcast, motherhood podcast for new moms, Laila Learning to Mom, mom podcast sibling transition, motherhood podcast, mom podcast, podcast for moms, best podcasts for moms, podcasts for new moms, podcast for first time moms, podcast for stay at home moms, motherhood podcast for Christian moms, Christian motherhood podcast, Catholic mom podcast, faith based motherhood podcast, faith and motherhood, biblical motherhood, praying as a mom, motherhood and faith podcast, parenting podcast, gentle parenting podcast, intentional motherhood, intentional parenting, motherhood community, mom friends podcast, podcast that feels like a friend, encouragement for moms, mom encouragement podcast, tired moms, exhausted mom, overstimulated mom, touched out, mom burnout, mom guilt, mom rage, mental load of motherhood, invisible labor of motherhood, postpartum support, postpartum recovery, fourth trimester, postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, healing postpartum, newborn stage, newborn tips, sleep deprived mom, breastfeeding support, breastfeeding tips, formula feeding, pumping tips, first time mom tips, new mom advice, new mom must haves, pregnancy tips, pregnancy podcast, birth stories, natural birth, unmedicated birth, home birth, hospital birth, birth plan, VBAC, doula, midwife, labor and delivery, toddler mom, toddler behavior, toddler tantrums, toddler discipline, raising toddlers, raising boys, raising girls, big family, mom of three, mom of many, large family living, homeschooling, homeschool mom, stay at home mom, working mom, SAHM life, day in the life mom, motherhood in real time, real motherhood, unfiltered motherhood, motherhood unfiltered, no perfect moms, imperfect motherhood, holistic motherhood, crunchy mom, crunchy motherhood, low tox living, non toxic living, non toxic home, clean beauty, clean living, natural living mom, whole food family meals, nourishing your family, marriage and motherhood, motherhood and marriage, being a wife and mom, mom routines, mom rhythms, daily rhythms with kids, screen time as a mom, phone free motherhood, being present with your kids, slow motherhood, seasons of motherhood, motherhood advice, motherhood tips, motherhood support, you are not alone motherhood, Learning to Mom, Learning to Mom podcast, the Couch Hang, Couch Hang podcast, Mom Club, Learning to Mom Patreon
