A Harvest in Our Homes: Raising the Next Generation to Know Christ

**This may be the most important message we've preached at Harvest.** As we celebrated our third anniversary, we shared the biblical convictions behind our approach to family ministry—and our desire to see the next generation know Christ, love His church, and set their hope in God. **I'm asking everyone connected to Harvest to give this message a listen.** Whether you're a parent, grandparent, single adult, or someone without children at home, you have a part to play. In this message, we explore: • **Why we worship together.** Keeping children in the service is an intentional commitment to helping them learn to worship alongside the whole church family. • **Why discipleship begins at home.** God gives parents the primary responsibility for teaching their children the faith. The church helps equip and support them in that calling, with simple practices like reading Scripture, praying, and singing together. • **How children learn by watching us.** When they see us sing, pray, hear God's Word, and observe baptism and Communion, they witness what a life of faith looks like—and begin asking questions that open doors for gospel conversations. • **Why every generation matters.** Children need relationships with faithful believers of all ages. Every member can help by modeling faith, encouraging parents, and investing in our young people. • **Why the challenges are worth it.** We address the realities of noise, distractions, and restless children, and the patience and sacrifice involved in helping them grow into lifelong participation in worship. There is a harvest growing right here among us. Our prayer is that these children—and generations yet unborn—would come to kno

Kids Message: BC 87-89--All Sin Matters

The kids message explores the theological implications of human sinfulness through the lens of the Baptist catechism, specifically addressing the inability of fallen man to perfectly keep God's law. Using the illustration of pure water tainted by a single drop of impurity, the teaching emphasizes that while some sins are more heinous than others, all sin renders a person unclean and deserving of God's wrath. The message contrasts the high standard of holiness demanded by Scripture, such as in 1 Peter 1:16, with the reality of daily transgression in thought, word, and deed. Ultimately, the sermon points to the work of Christ as the only solution, who takes the punishment for sin to restore believers to a state of purity and fellowship with God.

The Love of Money (1 Tim. 6:6-10)

Does having more money really lead to a more satisfying life? In 1 Timothy 6:6–10, Paul points us toward a different kind of wealth: godliness with contentment. Pastor Sam Kraemer explores the danger of loving money and the call to find our satisfaction in God. We brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out. These truths challenge us to examine what we treasure, receive God's provision with gratitude, and guard against desires that draw our hearts away from Christ. You don't have to be wealthy to love money. The question is: What has your heart? Guarding Against False Teachers

This sermon examines the warnings against false teachers found in 1 Timothy 6, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to the sound words of Jesus Christ and teachings that accord with godliness. The message argues that the most effective defense against doctrinal error is a deep, intimate familiarity with the truth, illustrated by the analogy of identifying genuine currency. It contrasts the pride, controversy, and greed characteristic of false teachers with the humility and integrity required of biblical leaders. The sermon outlines four specific protections for the local church: personal Bible study, expositional preaching, adherence to a historic confession of faith, and the implementation of plural elder leadership. These measures are presented as essential safeguards to ensure the faithful preservation and transmission of the gospel.

Kids Message: BC 81-83--The Ninth Commandment

This Kid's Message explores the Ninth Commandment through the lens of the importance of truthful speech, using the analogy of toothpaste to illustrate how difficult it is to retract harmful words once spoken. The central message emphasizes that while lying is easy, it creates a mess that cannot be undone, whereas God always speaks truth and Jesus embodies that truth. The teaching encourages believers to reflect God's character by choosing honesty, keeping promises, and protecting the good name of their neighbors, even when it is difficult. It concludes with the assurance that Jesus offers forgiveness for past failures in speech and empowers believers to live truthfully through the gospel.

Honoring our Earthly Masters (1 Timothy 6:1-2)

The sermon explores the biblical mandate for Christians to honor their earthly authorities, drawing primarily from 1 Timothy 6:1-2. It distinguishes between serving non-Christian masters, who require respectful conduct despite potential mistreatment, and Christian masters, who demand diligent service without presumption due to spiritual equality. The preacher emphasizes that honoring those in authority serves as a powerful witness to the gospel and reflects submission to God's ordained order. Historical context regarding Roman slavery clarifies the original audience's situation while applying principles to modern workplace dynamics. Ultimately, believers are called to exhibit humility, kindness, and integrity in all professional relationships to glorify God.

Kids Message: BC 78-80--The Eighth Commandment

This ids message explores the Eighth Commandment, 'You shall not steal,' by examining its positive and negative implications through the lens of Ephesians 4:28. The speaker uses the metaphor of different types of hands to illustrate that believers must refrain from grabbing what belongs to others, work diligently to produce good, and give generously to those in need. It emphasizes that while humans fail to keep this commandment due to sin, Jesus offers redemption through His pierced hands on the cross. The message encourages both children and adults to trust in Christ's love rather than striving for obedience out of fear, ultimately calling for faithful living rooted in gratitude.
