A season-long anthology TTRPG series using the Cortex Prime system from Dire Wolf Digital and Cam Banks. Season 1 tells a story of six strangers whose lives are intertwined across realities in a confusing and alarming manner. They're forced to endure the onslaught of the oppressive UCRI and its attempts to stop them at all costs. Thankfully, they have a little help from their friends, a one-legged ne'er-do-well named Gypsum and His Holiness Himself, Jason Christ. Season 2 tells the story of the spaceship Endeavor, whose mission is to crawl the galaxy mining the tastiest sauces from far-flung asteroids. On board, three hapless robots and one misguided human stumble through one unforeseen mishap to the next, including the murder of the richest robot on board the ship, a massive conspiracy that may underpin the economy on board the entire ship, and an active socialist revolution.

    2.8 - The Scene of the Crime

    What's in The Rift is a Cortex Prime Actual Play. Season 2 follows three hapless robots (ChroniCarl, PsychoBot 2000, and Helpis) plus their one human companion (Donny Fink) as they are dragged unwillingly into a murder mystery that may have far-reaching political ramifications. Of course, they can't be bothered with that unless dragged kicking and screaming by their GM back into the story. Episode 8 - The Scene of the Crime Our four courageous heroes return to the scene of a crime. Again. This is literally the same opening from episode 6. They can't help themselves, apparently. A process server has threatened the crew with the expenses of all the destroyed GearX robots as a result of their brush with celebrity. But no worries, as Seuss lets everyone know how they can "leverage" Helpis's body parts for liquidity. The newfound wealth that Helpis possesses turns out to be useless without ClankedIn, and thus they go about trying to rectify this situation. Then, the economy collapses, Two Arms Toneigh becomes a distant threat for ChroniCarl and PB walks disinterestedly through a massive street brawl that her friends are all actively engaged in. Episode 7 - I'm Very Good At My Job In the middle of a very boring conversation about capital finance, an investigator shows up to serve Helpis with a summons for the damage caused to the robots crushed by the SPU. Everyone has a showdown on who is the most competent in their respective fields, and it ends with Helpis selling his body to the bank. Of course, Helpis isn't Helpis in the eyes of the corporate state, so they embark on a new mission to get access to his newfound liquidity via a new ClankedIn chip. Episode 6 - It Goes Bzz Bzz Our four courageous heroes return to the scene of a crime. Helpis does a bit that gets everyone threatened with jail. After narrowly escaping via attrition, they decide to handle PB's rapidly deteriorating battery situation. A small crowd of gawkers assemble to make life difficult for Helpis, and Donny gets to play peacemaker just for ChroniCarl to make it worse. Also, BEANBAGS! Donny plays a pivotal role in diffusing the situation and PB is surly in an adorable way. After some catching up, a simple request goes remarkably right in a really wrong way. Helpis learns about ClankedIn, and we all learn a fun little lesson about money. Detective Rand, a boyish detective, turns the screws on the crew and lays out the extremely plausible case he has built up against them. Things are not looking good for our scrappy robot pals and their human pet in this one. Could a paper detective hat save the day? Only one way to find out!
