162 ~ Why Information Isn’t Enough to Change Your Life

Your desire can be clear, your vision can be strong, and you can still feel stuck. We’re talking about the making space to receive. When life moves fast, we inhale experiences like junk food, then wonder why we feel swollen with stress and starved for meaning. Digestion and nervous system regulation are not side quests for “wellness people.” They’re the foundations that let desire become lived reality. We reflect on why we devoted so much time to these themes, from how our culture trains us to rush through meals, emotions, and milestones to how dys-regulation makes us chase quick relief instead of honest growth. We also get real about embodiment: understanding a concept is helpful, but it rarely creates lasting change. What transforms your life is practicing something until it becomes wisdom in the body, a new baseline, a new way of being. Along the way, we share a guiding principle we come back to again and again: move as fast as the slowest part of you, but move. We explore what that looks like when resistance shows up as fatigue, cravings, headaches, or overwhelm, and how to choose a path without obsessing over the “right” outcome.  Episode Nuggets: • why we chose to stay with digestion and regulation instead of rushing to new topics   • how a fast culture trains us to skip integration and chase the next thing   • why understanding helps but embodied experience is what changes behavior   • how to hold “no one size fits all” without outsourcing your choices   • Brenda’s story about grief, suicide loss, and why books were part of her process   • “move as fast as the slowest part of you” and how to listen for your body resistance   • choosing without obsessing over outcomes and trusting course correction   • flexibility and perception as tools for living with nuance and focus   Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more. 160 ~ Ho'oponopono: A Practice for Letting Go (Tool Box Edition)

Four short phrases can feel almost too simple until you try them slowly and notice your body change. We bring you a “toolbox” mini episode built around Ho’oponopono, a forgiveness and reconciliation practice with roots in ancient Hawaiian community repair and a widely shared modern adaptation for personal healing. If your nervous system runs tired and wired, or you feel stuck in a loop of resentment, self-blame, or mental replay, this is a grounded way to come back to center. We talk through the two lenses of the practice: the traditional form, held in community with an elder to restore harmony within families, and the modern inward approach popularized through the book Zero Limits, where the focus turns toward clearing subconscious memories and limiting beliefs. We also name an important boundary: taking responsibility for what lives inside us is not the same as accepting blame for systemic issues, and discernment matters. Then we make it practical. We break down the mantra “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you,” explain how each phrase can land as an act of self-responsibility and self-connection, and guide a few gentle rounds with breath to help you feel a sense of calm, peace, and release.  Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more. 159 ~ The Serenity Prayer for Everyday Life (Tool Box Edition)

Control can feel like safety, until it turns into the thing that drains you. When we’re overwhelmed, stuck in a relationship snag, or facing uncertainty we can’t “think” our way out of, we need a reset that brings us back to our bodies. We share one of our favorite toolbox practices for doing exactly that: the Serenity Prayer, used as a simple daily ritual for reset and clarity. We walk through the the prayer parts step by step, turning familiar words into a lived mindfulness and emotional regulation practice. We slow down at acceptance and get honest about what you cannot change right now, including the tension of accepting something you don’t like. Then we move into courage, where your agency lives: a conversation you need to have, a boundary you need to set, an action you’ve been avoiding, or even the smallest form of bravery when you’re tapped out, like taking one real breath. We close with wisdom, the skill that makes the whole tool work. We explore how to sense the difference between what’s yours to carry and what isn’t, so you stop hitting the wall of trying to control the uncontrollable and start putting your energy where it can actually change your life. If you want a practical spiritual practice you can use in the morning or mid-day when anxiety spikes, press play and practice with us.  Episode Nuggets:    • the Serenity Prayer as a practical reset for overwhelm and uncertainty • acceptance as stopping the fight with reality without pretending to like it   • identifying what you cannot change and practicing release through breath and imagery   • courage as clean action like boundaries, hard conversations, and telling the truth   • courage as self-care when action feels impossible, including breathing and movement   • wisdom as discerning what is in your control and what is not   Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more. 158 ~ Nature Reset for Your Nervous System (Tool Box Edition)

Your body knows when you’re off. We are inviting you to listen to that feeling and do a reset. Brenda guide's you through a short nature meditation practice, that resets your nervous system by letting nature do what it does best: regulate, steady, and soften you back into the present. She starts with breath and a quick check-in. She invite's you to choose an ideal place in nature, whatever feels most beautiful right now. Beach, mountains, woods, lake, backyard, garden, it all works. From there, she builds a vivid, calming nature visualization where she move's slowly through the five senses. You notice color and texture, tune into near and far sounds, imagine touching one object in the scene, then track scent and even taste. This kind of mindfulness meditation is practical because it interrupts spiraling thoughts and gives your body clear cues of safety and steadiness. She close's by bringing you back gently, with a moment of gratitude and a reminder that you can return to this inner landscape anytime you need stress relief, grounding, or a quick emotional reset.  Episode nuggets: • nature as an accessible co-regulator   • a guided breath reset for the body   • choosing an intuitive place in nature   • sensory grounding through sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste   • returning to the present with gratitude Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more. 157 ~"I Am Safe" Reset for Anxiety (Tool Box Edition)

That gap between logic and sensation is where so many of our reactions begin, especially in relationships, work pressure, and moments that threaten belonging, love, or safety. We sit down for a quick toolbox mini episode to slow everything down and give you a simple way back to steadiness.  We walk through the nervous system’s automatic responses, including fight, flight, freeze, fawn and the less-talked-about flop, the moment the system collapses from overwhelm. Then we connect activation to the drama triangle, where we can snap into victim, villain, or rescuer roles, and we name the real goal: reaching observer mode. The catch is crucial and compassionate: we can’t observe clearly if the body doesn’t feel safe. So we practice creating enough safety to widen perspective and make better choices.  Get grounded, check-in for basic survival needs like sleep, food, water, shelter, rest, and connection. A simple hand to heart practice plus saying “I am safe", can help you ground, connect and reset. Let's separate champagne problems from true survival threats, so your system stops treating every hard moment like danger.  Episode Nuggets: • our mission of practicing desire with responsibility and honesty   • fight, flight, freeze, fawn and flop as automatic nervous system responses   • the drama triangle roles and why observer mode requires felt safety   • orienting to the present so the body knows there is no 'danger'  • a basic needs check for sleep, food, water, shelter, rest and connection   • a hand to heart practice  • separating first-world stress from true survival risk with honesty about needs Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more. 156 ~ Breathwork Meditation for Grounding (Tool Box Edition)

Your breath is the one tool that never leaves you, and it might be the fastest way to change how you feel. We recorded a short “reset tool” you can use. If you’ve ever felt like you need an assist to get grounded, you can try this reset immediately. We walk you through a gentle breathing practice designed for nervous system regulation and real life emotional moments. You’ll be guided to notice whether you’re accidentally holding your breath, then return to a simple rhythm that fits your body, including an optional inhale for five and exhale for five. From there we add a mindfulness based body scan, helping you identify where tension sits in your body, so you can release without forcing it. We also offer a phrase and visualization to make the shift tangible: “I surrender,” then “inhale peace, exhale chaos,” imagining the exhale moving out through your fingertips and toes. We close by bringing attention to the heart and practicing self kindness, because coming back to yourself is a practice.  Episode Nuggets: • breath is a life giving tool for fast emotional state change   • noticing breath holding during stress, tears, or overwhelm   • simple guided breathing with a comfortable count   • scanning the body head to toe to find tension   • using “I surrender” to soften resistance   • visualization practice to inhale peace and exhale chaos   • returning attention to the heart and practicing self kindness   Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more. 155 ~ What's Your Go-To Reset Tool? (Tool Box Edition)

Your nervous system already has a favorite move. When anxiety spikes, when you feel overwhelmed, when loneliness lands, when anger or grief shows up, you reach for something fast. The question is whether that “something” is actually regulating you or simply getting you through the moment. We share a quick toolbox-style practice built around one golden question: What’s the perfect regulation tool? Our honest take is simple: the best tool is the one you’ll use. Then we push it a step further, because using a tool isn’t the same as being supported by it. Through a rapid-fire series of prompts, we help you identify your default coping habits in real time and build awareness around what you’re doing when you’re dysregulated. From there, we connect regulation to capacity. When we’re more regulated, we can hold more of life: intimacy, truth, responsibility, joy, and the stretch that comes with real desire. If you’ve been living on autopilot, this short rapid-fire check-in practice can be a reset of sorts that helps you choose a tool that brings you back to yourself. Episode Nuggets: • Desire as a deep spiritual practice and daily compass   • Toolbox format and the golden question about the “perfect” regulation tool   • Rapid-fire prompts to find your go to tool • Seeing your default coping patterns through simple self-awareness   • Choosing what is effective, not just familiar   • Regulation as the foundation for capacity and being able to hold more life   Support the show Please rate, share, review, and follow for more.
