Stop Reacting, Start Healing: Nervous System Regulation

What if the reactions you’re struggling with today are patterns your nervous system learned to protect you in the past? In this vulnerable solo episode of Sincerely, Self Podcast, I’m getting honest about my mental health, my recent struggles with emotional regulation, and my journey toward understanding my nervous system on a deeper level. We often judge ourselves for being reactive, shutting down during conflict, running away from uncomfortable conversations, or putting everyone else’s needs before our own. But what if these responses aren’t signs that we’re broken? What if they’re protective patterns we learned long before we understood what was happening? In this episode, we’re breaking down the four common nervous system responses: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn. I’ll walk you through the thoughts, physical sensations, and behaviors associated with each response, how these patterns can show up in our relationships, and practical ways to begin regulating your nervous system when you feel triggered or overwhelmed. We’ll also talk about the importance of self-compassion, reparenting your inner child, changing the way you speak to yourself, and taking responsibility for healing the patterns that no longer serve you. Because while our past experiences may help explain our reactions, we can learn new ways to respond. A reminder to take with you: You are not broken because you developed ways to protect yourself. You can honor the version of you who survived while learning to become the version of you who feels safe, supported, and grounded. If this episode resonates with you, share it with someone who needs the reminder, leave a review, and follow Sincerely, Self Podcast for more conversations about self-love, emotional healing, and becoming the most authentic version of yourself. With love, Lexi 🤍 Disclaimer: This episode reflects my personal experiences and understanding of nervous system regulation. It is for educational and informational purposes and is not a substitute for individualized mental health care or professional medical advice. Comparison Is Stealing Your Confidence

What’s the difference between genuine confidence and confidence that comes from your ego? In this episode of Sincerely, Self, Lexi dives into the difference between ego-based confidence and real, grounded confidence—and how comparison can secretly influence the way we see ourselves. From comparing your appearance, accomplishments, and success to other people, to comparing yourself to your partner’s past relationships, it can be easy to fall into the trap of believing that someone else’s success somehow says something about your own worth. Lexi talks about how comparison can either inflate your ego or completely diminish your self-esteem, and why neither one creates genuine confidence. She also shares a mindset shift that has helped her personally: instead of comparing yourself to other people, compare yourself to who you used to be. Look at how far you’ve come, how you’ve grown, and who you are becoming. This episode is also a reminder that self-growth doesn’t mean you’ll never have a negative thought, feel jealous, or compare yourself again. Growth is learning to recognize those thoughts, become aware of them, and choose how you respond. Who Are You When Everything Changes?

After a two-month break, Lexi is officially back on Sincerely, Self—and there’s a lot to catch up on. 💌 From getting married and starting a new job to stepping away from the podcast and navigating a personal mental rut, Lexi opens up about what the past few months have taught her about identity, growth, self-love, intuition, and becoming more present. In this special three-year anniversary episode, Lexi reflects on one of the biggest lessons behind Sincerely, Self: self-love and self-acceptance are the roots of success. She talks about what happens when we tie our identity to our careers, relationships, achievements, or other external things—and how easily we can lose our sense of self when those things change. She also gets real about the fact that healing isn’t linear. Sometimes the same triggers, emotions, and patterns we’ve worked so hard to heal can show up again. But that doesn’t mean the healing didn’t work. Sometimes growth looks like simply becoming aware of the pattern and choosing to respond differently the next time. Lexi also opens up about her journey of becoming more connected to her intuition, exploring her relationship with God and spirituality, spending more time in nature, and figuring out what feels authentic to her outside of other people’s expectations. And as she enters year three of Sincerely, Self, Lexi shares what she hopes this next chapter will look like—and why she wants to prioritize being completely in tune with herself. If you’ve ever felt lost, disconnected from yourself, or like you’re becoming a completely different version of who you used to be, this episode is for you. 🤍 Welcome back to Sincerely, Self. Here’s to year three. 🥂

The Truth About Hustle Culture, Burnout, and Purpose with Serendipitous Rebel

What if success wasn’t about doing more… but about doing what actually matters? In this episode of Sincerely Self, Lexi sits down with certified life and business coach Wendy Guth and master marketer Krystal Eicher, co-founders of Serendipitous Rebel, for a conversation that challenges the constant pressure to hustle harder. Together, they share the story behind building their business and dive into the SAVER framework — a holistic approach to creating a life and business that supports who you are instead of draining you. They explore the reality of hustle culture, how so many people unknowingly live in fight-or-flight mode, and why constantly being busy can become a way to avoid discomfort. They also discuss nervous system regulation, authentic connection, self-care beyond surface-level fixes, and creating a version of success that aligns with your current season of life.
