112 - Finding Your Identity in Christ with Mary Rooney Armand

Is your identity rooted in who Christ says you are, or shaped by what the world says you should be? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy talks with Mary Rooney Armand, author of Uniquely Made: Understanding and Embracing Your Identity in Christ, about the freedom that comes when we stop letting the world define us and start resting in who Christ says we are. In this episode, Missy and Mary discuss: Why accomplishments, roles, social media, and approval can never give us a secure identity How the Katrina Rose became a symbol of beauty, resilience, and remaining rooted in Christ How identity thieves like rejection, disappointment, pride, comparison, and unforgiveness steal our joy Why healthy boundaries, spiritual gifts, and God-given calling help us live with freedom and clarity Your identity is not found in what you accomplish, how others respond to you, what you have walked through, or what the world says about you. Your identity is secure in Christ, and when you remain rooted in Him, you can live with freedom, clarity, and bold faith. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him! 111 - God Meets You in the Morning with Jennifer Dukes Lee

Do you wake up with hope, or do your mornings already feel overwhelming before the day even begins? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now Podcast, Missy talks with Jennifer Dukes Lee, author of "How to Love Your Morning: Faith-Filled Habits to Build a Life of Joy and Purpose One Day at a Time." Jennifer studied over 200 mornings in Scripture and discovered something powerful–mornings matter deeply to God. From the first light of creation to manna in the wilderness, from the prayers of Jesus to the resurrection morning, Scripture shows us that God often meets His people at the beginning of the day. But this conversation is not about waking up at 5 a.m., creating the perfect quiet time, or adding one more thing to your already full plate. It is about learning to recognize God's presence in the midst of your real life and to begin each day with hope, grace, and purpose. Whether your mornings are quiet, chaotic, rushed, grief-filled, or unpredictable, Jennifer offers practical encouragement for building faith-filled rhythms that help you start your day with God. In this episode, Missy and Jennifer discuss: Why mornings are so significant throughout Scripture How God's provision, presence, and mercy meet us at the beginning of the day Why being a "morning person" is not about the clock, but about the posture of your heart The Shema and what it teaches us about loving God with our whole selves How morning rhythms can steady us during grief, caregiving, stress, and hard seasons The four morning archetypes and how they can help you understand what motivates you Simple ways to move from morning dread to hope Your morning does not have to be perfect to be purposeful. God meets you at the beginning of the day with new mercies, steady presence, and enough grace for what is ahead. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him! 110 - Hope for Moms of Addicted Children with Dawn R. Ward

What do you do when someone you love is trapped in addiction, and you feel helpless to fix it? In this episode of Bold Faith Now, Missy sits down with Dawn R. Ward, author of From Guilt to Grace: Hope and Healing for Christian Moms of Addicted Children. Dawn shares her deeply personal journey of walking through addiction in her own family, the fear of middle-of-the-night phone calls, the pressure to "fake fine," and the hard but holy process of learning to trust Jesus with what she could not control. This conversation offers hope to parents, family members, and loved ones who are weary, grieving, praying, and wondering if God still sees them in the middle of the storm. Dawn reminds us that addiction may be powerful, but Jesus is stronger, and His grace is available in our deepest time of need. In this episode, they discuss: The fear, grief, and exhaustion families experience when addiction enters the home Why parents need to release guilt and receive God's grace The difference between enabling, control, and "rugged love" How to keep praying, trusting, and clinging to Jesus even when the answer has not come yet The key point to remember: you did not cause it, you cannot control it, and you cannot cure it, but you can run to the throne of grace, cling to Jesus, and trust Him with the person you love.
