I'm Missy Eversole, author, speaker, podcaster, and Colson Fellow, and I believe the stories we read and the truth we take in can shape the way we live out our faith. Each week, we'll pull up a chair and talk with Christian fiction and nonfiction authors about their books, their faith, the stories behind their writing, and the biblical truths God has placed on their hearts. Some conversations will take us into fictional worlds that remind us of courage, redemption, hope, and grace. Others will help us wrestle with faith, culture, calling, and what it looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life.     What does it look like to find joy in suffering when God doesn't change your circumstances? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy chats with Lara Silverman, author of Singing Through the Fire, host of the Singing Through Fire podcast, and a former federal prosecutor whose life changed dramatically when a rare neurological illness left her bedridden. Lara shares how God has sustained her through the loss of her health, her dream career, and her husband, Matt, and how He has taught her that His grace is truly sufficient. Her story reminds us that joy doesn't mean ignoring grief or pretending suffering doesn't hurt.
