Recovery, Healing, Outreach, Awareness:  A Podcast About Domestic Violence Domestic or intimate partner violence is a complex and silent epidemic that affects millions of people worldwide. To respond to the overwhelming issues associated with domestic violence, Randi’s House of Angels (RHOA) has produced a series of podcasts that will bring this epidemic to the forefront of public consciousness and break the silence that often shrouds it. By creating a dedicated platform, RHOA hopes to create a safe space for survivors, advocates and experts to share their stories, insights and knowledge.  A series of topics will be discussed that can offer vital support and resources to victims and survivors, helping them realize that they are not alone and that there is help available. It can also serve as a catalyst for raising awareness and fostering necessary conversations within families, communities and institutions to empower individuals, foster empathy, and inspire collective action towards eradicating domestic violence while creating a safer, more compassionate society.     Season 4, Episode 1: Child-Centered Therapeutic Approaches for Children Exposed to Domestic Violence Release Date: August 24, 2026 Content Areas: On this episode, we are discussing how structured, supportive environments can help children feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions. We will explore how safe spaces, games, and art therapy can help children express feelings they may not yet have the words to explain. We will also discuss the value of recognizing nonverbal expression, especially with younger children, and the importance of helping children identify, understand, and label their emotions. In addition, we will look at how therapeutic groups can tailor activities by age and developmental level while helping children recognize that they are not alone. Finally, we will consider how resilience building can strengthen confidence, communication, and a sense of security over time.     Season 4, Episode 2: Unheard Cries: Male Survivors of Domestic Violence–Reversing the Lens: Female Abusers, Male Victims–Silent Suffering: The Hidden Face of Domestic Abuse; Male Victims Release Date: September 7, 2026 Content Areas: Today, we are discussing common misconceptions about domestic violence, including the belief that abuse is always male-on-female, while examining the prevalence of male victimization. We will look at the similarities and differences across abusive relationships, including emotional, psychological, physical, and financial abuse perpetrated by women. We will also discuss how male victims may experience shame, fear of disbelief, and social stigma, as well as the barriers they may face when reporting abuse and navigating the legal system. Finally, we will identify resources and support systems available to male victims of domestic violence.     Season 4, Episode 3: Court-Ordered Trauma: When Visitation Endangers Children Release Date: September 21, 2026 Content Areas: Today, we are discussing the risks children may experience when visitation is court-ordered, particularly in situations where courts mandate potentially unsafe reunification or visitation. We will examine the responsibility of the parent to maintain a positive environment for the child and shield them from the history of violence they may have previously experienced. We will also consider the potential impact and harm these decisions may have on children, as well as the burden placed on children to adapt to difficult situations and unhealthy environments. Additionally, we will explore gaps in supervised visitation policies and consider who is responsible for ensuring the child’s safety. Finally, we will discuss the importance of evaluating parental fitness and determining whether a parent can maintain a safe and supportive environment for the child.
