Black History Unveiled
Black History Unveiled: From the Continent to the Diaspora is a podcast by Swedish-Gambian journalist and author Amat Levin. It focuses on the part of world history that has received shockingly little attention. The podcast highlights gripping historical events, fascinating places, and exciting people that have been conspicuous by their absence in our history books. Some episodes are about things that happened hundreds, even thousands of years ago. Others take place more recently and touch on scenes many of us may have witnessed. The stories are inspiring, illuminating, startling, and sometimes upsetting. By listening, you'll learn why Black history has traditionally been suppressed, why it's essential to change that, and what learning about it can teach us about today. A MUST LISTEN FOR ALL
Mar 21
This podcast is a must listen for all, not just brown and black people (coming from a woman of mixed race or as I’ve come to learn because of this podcast someone mulatto). It is so enlightening. The dedication to the research and sharing the history to the listener does not disappoint! Not to mention the host, Amat, does such a great job of keeping things factual and withholding his bias that you truly get every bit of information out there that he could find in one nice package with a bow on it. These are the truths about history we should’ve ALLLLLLL been taught in school. These are the facts and this is the history my children will be learning from me (with the help of Prof. Amat Levine). Because truth and acknowledgment of our history despite how grim or morbid is essential in honest understanding and appreciation of the suffering and death of our ancestors and forefathers (and I ain’t talking about Napoleon or Washington). Let’s just say I’m obsessed and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who will listen to me gush. Also full transparency, I binged it and can’t wait for the next episode.

This makes the history so much clearer. So sad how humans can disregard their brothers
