Talking Joe is a weekly G.I Joe Comics podcast where Mark & Tim discuss the latest releases from Skybound, interview creators and talk about ebverthing new and old in the world of G.I. Joe comics. The Podcast launched with a look back at Marvel's epic 155 issue series, continuing on through Hama's ARAH IDW run and into present day Skybound. We also did deep dive coverage of the Devil's Due era! Allong the way we have spoken with many writers, artists and other creators behind G.I. Joe.     Talking Joe Joefest 2026 Panel : Bringing Comics to Life with guests Robert Atkins, Brian Shearer and Guy Dorian Sr Recorded Saturday 27th June 2026 at the Joefest Panel Room Unfortunately Larry Hama was unwell but we had a great conversation about the creative process around making G.i. joe comics. Brian Shearer is a professional comic book artist and illustrator based in the United States. He has worked on a variety of high-profile comic book titles, including Transformers, and Doctor Who, among others. He also writes and illustrates his creator-owned graphic novels, Gunship Thunderpunch and William the Last. We know him best for his work on GI Joe, inking SL Gallant after Gary Eskine's run. Starting with 173 then a long run 191 through to 263. He had full art duties for 2 issues, 253 featuring duke and 277 featuring Law and order and illustrated several covers. He studied at Savannah College of Art and Design, where he earned an Masters in Sequential Art and now teaches there himself. He is best known for his work on IDW's relaunch of GI JOE and the subsequent Snake Eyes Series,but other work includes Amazing Spider-man, Venom, Heroes for Hire, Ultimate Fantastic Four and The Savage She Hulk for Marvel comics, Legion of Superheroes for DC comics and Forgotten Realms for DDP. He creates artwork for toy packaging for various companies and brands including NERF, Marvel Legends, and Star Wars. He is the co-creator of a comic series titled Elders of the RuneStone. You can see his work as an inker for Marvel Entertainment products all over the world in magazines, coloring and activity books, video games, wall posters, cups, hats, t-shirts, and more. In comics, Guy has worked on titles such as The New Warriors, Marvel Comics Presents, and Night Thrasher. He is also the co-creator of the character Scorch alongside Dan Slott, who has appeared in Marvel comics and the TV series Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
