    11. Ripsime : I Can't Fool Myself

    Ripsime is a British-Armenian, independent alt-pop songwriter, producer and visual artist. A creative force, her paintings alone have garnered intrigue from art enthusiasts and collectors alike, and her most recent EP 'Capsule I : Wicked & Wise' was met with acclaim from numerous online publications.  In this episode, Ripsime shares the harrowing events that re-defined her life and music. In 2021, she took a trip to her motherland Artsakh during the Nagorno-Karabakh war. The corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia experienced bombing and a shutdown during the recording process of her EP, resulting in a geographical blockade for over 90 days. Ripsime spent the next year documenting, raising money, and reaching out to news outlets, before releasing 'Capsule I'. Joy and Ripsime also dive into self-mastery, the age of social media, navigating the industry as a female music producer, as well as finding creative and personal fulfilment.     Ben and Joy delve into the making of Ben's debut album ('We're All Naked in The Eyes of The Divine'), which was conceived after Ben's father's cancer diagnoses, and made with grammy nominated record producer Kipper (Sting & James Taylor), Ben's upbringing with jazz musician parents, stream of consciousness songwriting techniques, and navigating the music industry as an introvert.  Benjamin David is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who writes, performs and produces their own music. Agor is a powerhouse, creating works that span the music, theatre, film and art worlds, shifting between a seamless melting-pot of sounds, self-expressions and story-telling.     3. Ben Ramsden : To The Love You've Lent Me

    Musicians Ben Ramsden & Joy Nkoyo who met studying composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire discuss the music conservatory system, as depicted in films such as ‘Whiplash’ and ‘Tár’,  instrumental music as a form of storytelling, the future of Classical music, as well as Ben’s personal journey with composing as a form of catharsis.   Ben Ramsden is an award-winning Yorkshire born composer. Being equally interested in classical and other popular styles of music, he’s developed a unique sound world, writing pieces that sit at a crossroads between genres. His large-scale String Orchestra & Electronics piece ‘To Care’ was premiered at The Southbank Centre in 2019.
