The Art of Being Freed

Freed

The Art of Being Freed is a show about transformation, told by a man living it. I'm Freed. Artist, creator, and 20 years in sales and leadership. I talk about discipline, presence, focus, and rebuilding your life from the inside out. Every season is built like a project instead of a week to week show. One idea, one arc, start to finish. This is for creators and for anyone ready to change their mind, their body, and their direction. New episodes weekly.

Ep 5: The Art of Persistence

I started going to the gym in January of 2025. In May I hurt my neck and that was the end of it. I didn't work out again until August.   August was when I decided to get my body right for real. And that same month, I sold nothing. Twenty years in sales and I can't remember another month like it.   So I'm around 300 pounds, coming off a pinched nerve, scared to lift because I thought I'd break something, sitting in a new opportunity where I had no idea what anybody was talking about.   I kept showing up anyway.   This episode is about persistence. I reread the persistence chapter of Think and Grow Rich so you don't have to, and I break down the eight factors Napoleon Hill points to, the symptoms that show up when persistence is missing, and the four steps he lays out for building it.   Then I get into my own year. The months where nothing moved. The video where I told everybody I was a size 36 when I was nowhere near it. Deciding to focus on one thing when my attention was everywhere.   Persistence is a habit you build from the inside. Nobody hands it to you.   In this episode: The eight factors of persistence Procrastination, indifference, and wishing instead of willing Why fear of criticism stops more people than failure does The four steps for developing persistence Why the people closest to you often have the most fixed mindset What happened when I stopped splitting my focus The year I showed up with nothing to show for it   Mentioned: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill Les Brown Jim Rohn The 48 Laws of Power   freedpodcast.com Instagram: @freedpodcast Art: @callcentertv   Next week: building community as an introvert, and why it's okay that your friends and family don't engage with your art.

Ep 4: The Art of Mental Stability

What happens when the pressure keeps building and you start reacting instead of choosing? In this episode of The Art of Being Freed, Freed talks about the pressures that can push us toward a crash out, including stress, disappointment, uncertainty, heartbreak, and the feeling that too many things are happening at once. Freed shares how he learned that trying to fix everything around him wasn’t enough. At some point, he had to make himself the project. That meant creating protected time, building routines he could come back to, working on his body and mind, and finding constructive ways to release frustration instead of letting it control his response. This episode explores why mental stability doesn’t mean getting rid of every problem. It means building enough stability within yourself that when life gets heavy, you still have something solid to stand on. You’ll also hear Freed talk about the importance of creating anchors in your life, replacing some of the stress with calm, and making sure the ways you cope with pressure add to your character instead of taking away from it. Because crashing out doesn’t always look like completely losing control. Sometimes it starts much earlier, when the pressure begins making your decisions for you. And once you’ve learned how to stabilize yourself, the next challenge is staying with the work when you’re showing up every day and still don’t see the results. Next up: The Art of Persistence.

Ep 2: The Art of the Early Riser

I was never a morning person. I slept until the afternoon in the summer, I stayed up late, and I took jobs that let me avoid early shifts. Then my first job in tech sales put me on East Coast hours, 5 AM to 2 PM, and I accidentally built the best routine of my life. Same breakfast every day, gym across the street, two hours to myself before my son got out of daycare. Then a better paying job took it all away, and it took me years to understand what it actually cost me. This episode is not about waking up at 4 AM. It's about finding two hours in your day that belong to you, and protecting them when something better looking comes along. If you're not a morning person but you've thought about it, or you're already doing well and you need one or two tweaks to take you over the top, this one is for you. In this episode: Why protecting your time matters more than what time you wake up What Brown University found about people who keep the weight off The routine I built by accident and lost on purpose Why personal development and professional development are not the same thing The SAVERS method from The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod A two week challenge you can start tomorrow Why the gym became my lab freedpodcast.com Instagram: @freedpodcast Art: @callcentertv Next week: what to do when you hit the wall.
