    Lordy, lordy, look who's bringing the drama this week. Or perhaps the melodrama? It's Jack Hagen, scenic designer and member of the Cherubs family, and he's here to talk about Lorde's sophomore album Melodrama and not about Jack Antonoff. For Jack, Lorde is a generational artist, someone who entered adulthood and went through all the changes that encompass that at the same time he did. So they're basically the same person.     Sometimes we figure out a guest is going to bring an artist onto the pod with them and we’re just like FINALLY. This is one of those guest/artist combos that we could not be more pleased with. Reshmi Hazra Rustebakke is a theatre maker, filmmaker, and educator and a fellow alum of The Theatre School at DePaul University. She’s got serious credentials and honors us with her presence on pod. She brings with her Mariah Carey’s triumphant “MTV Unplugged” EP. It is a compact burst of joy and possibility that allowed Mimi to show her doubters a thing or two under the hot lights of MTV’s soundstage. If there was ever any question about whether Miss Carey and that voice were the real deal, this performance put them all sweetly to bed. Reshmi gives us a masterclass in album love; weaving her own vivid memories of falling for this one during her early days at DePaul into the larger tapestry of music in her life. She expresses beautifully how albums like this allow one to return him to themself. It’s the special kind of magic only a truly great album can do and, by Reshmi’s reckoning, this one ticks all the boxes. But will Reshmi close this case before the tribunal? Only one way to find out!
