    Episode 32 - Stern's 'Miracle' Year

    Episode 32 - Stern's 'Miracle' Year

It's the year 1980, and the US Olympic Hockey team shocks the world and beats the Soviet team in a stunning 4-3 upset in Lake Placid, NY during the height of the cold war.But another miracle happens in pinball that same year too, as a fledgling Stern Electronics releases 9 excellent machines in 1980. They were the clear last place manufacturer behind Bally, Williams, and Gottlieb, but in 1980 Stern makes an unbelievable run of machines, a run that we think has never been bested by...

Fantastic and Informative

Really enjoy this podcast. I love that the focus isn’t on pinball rumors and more about interviewing interesting people within the pinball community and telling some of the history of pinball. This is a super welcoming community and I think these guys do a great job of sharing their love of pinball with the world. Keep doing what yall are doing. They’ve turned me into someone that loves and seeks out classics. And as someone who within the last year has taken a deeper dive into pinball, their history lessons and general education about pinball and operators has really informed my opinions and saved me from my own embarrassment quite a few times.

Y’all do good job

This is a nice podcast. I’ve never been to Wedgehead but I would like to. I was only into craft lagers and fixie bikes last time I went to Portland, OR. Now I’m into pinball and I’m sad I never went to Wedgehead. Sometimes both owners/operators are on the cast but most of the time they have their funny friend locked in his basement but it works. Alex maybe? I do like the Rose Garden here but they will yell at you if you swim in the Koi pond. OH I’m sorry. Maybe put a life guard there. Plz do a die on this hill for Stargate/aka I will come on the show and say Shoot the Pyramid like James Spader but more like him twenty years later on Blacklist

Great pinball podcast - one of my favorites. Nice change from the more common news and rumors podcasts.
