Since that time, he has studied and practiced in both the Theravadan and Tibetan Buddhist lineages. In 2005, he met Mingyur Rinpoche, and in 2010 he ordained as a Buddhist monk under Rinpoche’s tutelage. HolgerYeshe has a particular interest in making meditation accessible and in the intersection between the meditative tradition and Western modes of inquiry.

Campbell said of his friend, “ Zimmer was at the opening of what would have been the most productive period of his career. . . hardly had he begun to find his stride, however, when, suddenly stricken, he passed from full career to his death within seven days.”
