Trump’s FCC Threatens Free Press (Hour 1)

After chatting about the “adventurous” designs worn by the likes of Chappell Roan on the Grammys red carpet, John and Gordy address the closing of the Kennedy Center. Allegedly, they will be renovating the building, but we are skeptical of that claim. Why would they plan to close such an important institution of art during the country’s 250th anniversary?  Today, Civic Media Sports Reporter Mike Clemens reports to us live from San Francisco! He brings us the on-the-ground story as the Seahawks and Patriots prepare for Super Bowl LX.  At the bottom of the hour, the guys return to talking about the arts. At the Grammys, host Trevor Noah made an Epstein joke about President Trump. Trump is responding by attempting to sue Noah for defamation.  Brendan Carr, the Trump-appointed FCC Chair, has long made open threats to unevenly apply the law to conservative- and liberal-leaning media outlets. John and Gordy recap some of Carr’s latest concerning statements. Guests: Mike Clemens
