Managing Mental Health in the Gig Economy || Hellen Elizondo [2/2]

To finish off season 1, we have the last part of the Hellen interview. We get into best practices of concert photography, producing, and how Hellen has been managing her mental health journey in the midst of an extremely competitive gig economy. I hope you learn, laugh, and enjoy.   We will be taking a quick break to focus get the backend in order but will be back in a couple months with some interviews I'm very excited for.  Thank you for listening, I hope you're well. -Bryce Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop

How to have the career and community you've always wanted || Hellen Elizondo [1/2]

For our third guest on the podcast we have one of the most inclusive, helpful, and community oriented people I have met. She spends just about every waking hour helping to build the scene, from producing music videos, to event planning, to marketing, to her specialty of concert photography, anywhere you look Helen has probably worked in that space. Next week Helen will be going on tour with Poptropicalslutz! fulfilling a long time dream of being a touring concert photographer.  This interview goes through a crazy arc with this episode focusing more on career and the next couple diving deeper and deeper into the emotions behind the absolute grind that Helena was on at this time.  Recorded 14 July 2023 this is a beautiful time capsule into where Helena was almost a year ago. Since then, she's shot on 2 tours, about to go on a third, has produced multiple videos with millions of views, and has become a vital staple of the New York Music scene marrying a vicious work ethic with a biblical level of kindness and care.  I hope y'all enjoy listening to this interview as much as I enjoyed running it. ~ thank you for everything ~ Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop

Juliet Ivy [2/2]: Writing Playpen, going viral, and Teletubbies

In the second and last part of the Juliet Ivy interview, we dive into the process of writing her debut ep, Playpen. With detailed explorations into production, sessions, writing lyrics, and mindset, this was a truly fulfilling and educational interview to run and subsequently edit, so I hope ya'll find the same value I did from it.  We also get into reality Tv and at some point there's a brief freestyle on the topic of Love Island UK Season 5 so this is probably the best podcast episode I've ever heard.  On that note, please enjoy Part 2/2 of The Juliet Ivy Interview. Juliet Ivy [1/2]: Handling virality, songwriting process, and her musical origin story

For our long awaited second guest on the show, we have the internet's favorite musical nihilist, Juliet Ivy.  Having recently released her debut EP Playpen, Juliet has carved a bubbly introspective lane for herself in pop music. From the nihilist indie bedroom rock/pop anthem "we’re all eating each other," to the tiny, liquid-dnb beats of lug (a BOP), playpen manages to capture an absurdly wide range of topics, textures and themes in an efficient, meticulously constructed pop universe. As a long time fan of her and her work, it was with utmost pleasure we dove into the inner workings of her process, her come up, and how she's handling her recent success. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did.  Thank you for everything, Bryce Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop

Elroy [4/4]: Learning new things, Elroy's process, and communicating as men.

This is the last and my favorite episode of the Elroy series. It dives deeper into Elroy's process and how to learn to produce in the audience question segment, and more importantly, contains a discussion on setting boundaries and communicating especially as men.   Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop

Elroy [3/4] ft Patchymate (Avi): Self Care, the industry, and friendship.

In part 3 of this saga of an interview, Patchymate (Avi) has a guest appearance from a bathtub. The gang discusses self care, knowing when to put out music, and their trials in and out of the industry. They talk about the rhythm of work and Bryce and Elroy reminisce on the start of their friendship.  Bryce talks a lot in this one, so apologies/you're welcome. ~ thank you for everything ~ Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop

Elroy [2/4]: Owl city, favorite plug ins, first uploads, and who you were as a child

Part two of the Elroy interview includes Elroy absolutely gushing about Owl City, future bass roots, a guest appearance, favorite plugins, long lost ambient albums, and if we would rather be in the NBA.  This one's a chaotic one, I hope you enjoy. - Bryce  ~ thank you for everything ~ Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop

Elroy [1/4]: Dream Yoga, origin story p1, and mastering isn't real

In this, the first episode of Thank You For Everything we talk to to Elroy. One of my favorite people and conveniently favorite musicians.  Starting his career with posting a flurry of singles on Soundcloud, Elroy came onto the scene with  laid-back yet emotional vocals delivering hypnotising, introspective lyrics over massive 808s and heavy trap drum patterns using a collection of sounds picked from shows, video games, and music that surrounded him.  I and many others had never heard anything like Elroy’s music, especially executed in such a meticulous and precise manner. Over the next few years Elroy would continue building an extremely dedicated fan base releasing music that progressively became somehow even more refined, coupling it with beautiful visuals on youtube, and a general air of captivating mystery in his online presence.  In the first part of what will probably be like a 5 part series, we talk Elroy's process making Dream Yoga, the origins of how he got into music, and why mastering isn't real [it is].  I hope you enjoy. -Bryce Support the show: https://patreon.com/thankyouforeverything Follow Bryce: https://linktr.ee/brycebishop
