One question stopped me in my tracks, changed my entire schedule, and led to this completely unscheduled Episode 92 of the Building & Becoming Show. "Jim, is being fat disrespectful to God?" WOW. This one is going to make some people uncomfortable. But sometimes the most loving thing somebody can do is tell you a truth you've been avoiding. The Bible tells us our bodies are TEMPLES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. So what does that actually mean when it comes to obesity, gluttony, physical fitness, and the responsibility to care for our health? 🔥 IN EPISODE 92, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT: ⚔️ YOUR BODY BELONGS TO GOD — What 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 teaches us about honoring God with our bodies. 💪 YOUR BODY CARRIES YOUR CALLING — Why building strength, improving health, and developing physical capability matter to your God-given purpose. 🍽️ GLUTTONY & SELF-CONTROL — What Scripture teaches about appetite, overeating, discipline, and surrender. 🙏 CONVICTION VS. CONDEMNATION — Why the Holy Spirit calls us toward repentance and transformation, not hopelessness and shame. 🔥 COMFORT VS. DISCIPLINE — Why your feelings cannot continue to dictate your decisions. ❤️ YOU ARE NOT TOO FAR GONE — Why your age, weight, past failures, and current circumstances do NOT have to define your future. I know what it's like to look in the mirror and feel hopeless. But I also know what GOD can do with a surrendered life! SO, IS BEING FAT DISRESPECTFUL TO GOD? Here's my answer. Being overweight does NOT automatically make you sinful, less faithful, less valuable, or less loved by Jesus Christ. But habitual self-indulgence, refusing to practice self-control, and deliberately neglecting responsibilities God has entrusted to us can become matters of spiritual disobedience. Romans 8:1 (NIV) — "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." This episode is NOT about fat-shaming. It's about STEWARDSHIP. It's about SURRENDER. It's about DISCIPLINE. It's about raising your standards and honoring God with the life He's given you! 💥 YOUR BODY CARRIES YOUR CALLING! ⚔️ THIS IS WHY DEEPWATER EXISTS!
