Episode 33: Grief Unfiltered: Letting Go of Who We Were (Part 2)

Send us Fan Mail Last week, we opened the door to a conversation that so many women quietly carry but rarely talk about out loud… grief. In Part 1, Dr. Mona Raed shared her insight on navigating loss in all forms, from losing loved ones to losing relationships, identity, health, and the life we thought we were supposed to have. Today, in Part 2 of this special series, we continue that conversation and go even deeper. We talk about healing, giving ourselves permission to grieve differently, and what it really looks like to move forward while still honoring what was lost. Dr. Mona brings both professional insight and personal experience to this conversation in a way that feels compassionate, honest, and deeply human. It’s hard to believe this all started from a chance meeting at the Morocco airport, but sometimes the people we’re meant to meet find us exactly when they’re supposed to. If Part 1 resonated with you, this episode will too. Let’s get into Part 2 with Dr. Mona Raed. ____ Dr. Mona Raed (IG: https://www.instagram.com/welldressedwitnessmd/) is a board-certified physician in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine based in Indianapolis, with over 15 years of experience supporting children and families through serious illness. She serves as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine and works with the palliative care team at Community Health Network, focusing on compassionate, whole-person care. She earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed her pediatric residency and fellowship at Akron Children’s Hospital. Dr. Raed’s approach blends medicine, emotional support, and spirituality, helping families navigate both the physical and emotional aspects of grief. She has also contributed to research in end-of-life care. She is also a mother of two who values creativity, travel, and human connection, which shape her compassionate approach to healing. https://www.twopeacockstravel.com https://www.instagram.com/two_peacocks_travel/ https://www.youtube.com/@twopeacockstravel https://www.facebook.com/twopeacockstravel

Episode 32: Grief Unfiltered: Letting Go of Who We Were (Part 1)

Send us Fan Mail There are moments in life when connection happens instantly… the kind that feels aligned, effortless, and meant to be. Today’s guest is someone who walked into our lives in one of those exact moments. We met her in the Morocco airport, somewhere between departures and new beginnings, and within minutes, there was a connection that felt deeper than coincidence. Dr. Mona Raed (IG: welldressedwitnessmd) is a physician whose work extends far beyond medicine. She is deeply passionate about supporting others through grief, loss, and life’s unexpected transitions. Her perspective is rooted not only in her professional experience, but in her personal journey navigating loss in its many forms. Because grief is not just about losing a loved one. It can show up in the loss of identity, relationships, health, or the life you once imagined. In this episode, we’re having a real and honest conversation about grieving all aspects of loss. The kind we don’t always talk about out loud. The kind many women carry quietly while still showing up for everyone else. This is Part 1 of a 2-part series, where we begin to unpack grief, what it looks like, how it shows up, and how we start to move through it. From a chance meeting in an airport to a conversation that we know will resonate with so many of you, this episode is about honoring where you are, understanding that grief is not linear, and reminding you that you don’t have to navigate it alone. Episode 31: Traveling Alone for the First Time at 40+

Send us Fan Mail Ever catch yourself daydreaming about traveling… but then thinking, Could I really do this alone? If that sounds like you, this episode is for you. In Episode 31, we talk about what it is really like to step into solo travel later in life. Not the backpacking-in-your-twenties version, but the grown-woman version where comfort, safety, and confidence actually matter. We bust some of the biggest myths, including the idea that hostels are only for twenty-somethings who never sleep. Spoiler alert, many hostels today offer beautiful private rooms, calm social spaces, and safe, welcoming vibes that are perfect for women traveling solo. They are not what you think. We talk about not letting fear, or movies like Taken, Saw, and Final Destination, convince you that the world is out to get you. Solo travel is not about being reckless, it is about being prepared, aware, and brave enough to live your life fully. And if the idea of solo travel excites you but also makes you a little nervous, you are not alone. Sometimes the best first step is traveling with a supportive group that helps you build confidence. Two Peacocks Travel creates women-only trips designed to give you that bridge between guided travel and full solo adventures. So if you have been waiting for a sign to finally go, this is it. Episode 28: Our visit to Bangkok, Thailand

Send us Fan Mail Welcome back to the podcast! Today we’re hopping on a plane, grabbing a poncho, and maybe dodging a speeding train—because Ana and Sandy of Two Peacocks Travel are taking us straight to Bangkok, Thailand. From sipping coconut water at the floating markets, to standing way too close for comfort at the Train Market (yes, the one where the train actually comes through), these two turned adventure into an Olympic sport. They zipped through Bangkok in tuk tuks, explored glamorous, jaw-dropping malls, and somehow managed to do it all in—wait for it—lots and lots of rain. Like, “is-this-a-monsoon-or-a-sign?” kind of rain. As we share these stories, we also want to pause and offer our sincere condolences to the King of Thailand and the Thai people on the recent passing of his mother. Traveling through Thailand reminded us not only of its energy and beauty, but also of the deep respect and reverence woven into its culture. So if you’ve ever wondered how to stay glamorous while soaking wet, laugh through chaos, and still fall completely in love with a city that never slows down—this episode is for you. Grab your umbrella, hold onto your shopping bags, and let’s explore Bangkok with Ana and Sandy of Two Peacocks Travel. 🦚🌧️🇹🇭 https://www.twopeacockstravel.com https://www.instagram.com/two_peacocks_travel/ https://www.youtube.com/@twopeacockstravel https://www.facebook.com/twopeacockstravel
