Ep. 144 You Don't Need To Feel Guilt about Your Finances — Here's Why...

What carrying around financial shame may be costing you… You may have thought about hiring a financial coach, or investing in that money program, but you haven't done anything because you're too embarrassed.  You feel so much shame around your financial situation and you're not ready to come to terms with it yet. You can't get over the fact that you have so much debt or a crappy credit score, or that you depleted your savings for something silly. I get it.  But it's not worth staying there. In this episode of the Living Your Abundant Life Podcast, I share the real problem with staying stuck in financial shame. You'll discover: What the Bible says about shame What shame is actually costing you Why the shame you feel isn't doing anyone a bit of good  How getting over the embarrassment can impact your children in a positive way If you have been considering working with a financial coach but shame and money guilt has kept you stuck, this is the episode for you. Romans 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. Takeaway: Staying stuck in shame is helping no one.  Resources & Links Subscribe to the podcast so you never miss an episode: Living Your Abundant Life Podcast Connect with me on Instagram: @jenpiala Get your FREE Money Clarity Check-In guide here. Ep. 141 How to Save Money for Something You Want (Without Feeling Deprived)

Most money talks revolve around saving for a rainy day, paying down debt or investing.  Today though, we are diving into something different, dreaming with your money!  What about saving your money for something you actually WANT? Today, we're talking about one of my favorite parts of managing money: dreaming with your money and saving for something fun — without going into debt. I remember taking my kids to the county fair and having to watch every dollar we spent because there was only so much money available. One of my dreams was to someday take them to the fair, let them go on every ride, play the games, eat the food, and enjoy the entire day without worrying about how much everything cost. Thankfully, that day did come. And that's what I want for you, too. Whether you're saving for a vacation, an elegant dinner out, a fun new outfit, routine massages, or another experience you've been dreaming about, you can create a simple savings plan that allows you to enjoy your money without the stress or debt that can come with it. In this episode, you'll learn: How to save money for something you want without feeling deprived A simple, no-stress way to save for fun purchases and experiences How to make saving automatic so you barely miss the money Why identifying what you truly want can help you become more confident with money How giving your savings a purpose can make managing money more exciting Why dreaming with your money can be one of the most fun parts of your finances You don't have to choose between being responsible with your money and enjoying your life. You can save for the future AND save for the things that make your life abundant today. Scripture verse: Ecclesiastes 3:12-13   "I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; 13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man." Takeaway: You actually can save up for something fun! Ep. 137 Where is My Extra Money Going??? How to Stop Spending More as You Earn More

You're making more money… so why does it still feel like you have no idea where it's going? In this episode, I'm sharing what changed for my husband and me when our income increased—and how we learned to be more intentional with the money God had given us. We'll talk about giving your extra income an assignment, balancing enjoying life today with planning for tomorrow, and deciding what actually matters to YOU—not just what makes sense mathematically. If your income has grown but your savings, debt payoff, or financial peace hasn't grown with it, this episode is for you. In this episode, we'll talk about: Why making more money doesn't automatically mean getting ahead financially How to decide whether your extra money should go toward savings, debt, or investing Why enjoying your money NOW belongs in your financial plan too How to give your extra income an assignment before your lifestyle spends it for you Why praying over your money can help you decide what God is calling you to do with it "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." — Luke 16:10 NIV Takeaway: Your extra money needs an assignment. Otherwise, your lifestyle will find a place for it.  Most likely, without your liking.
