    Ep 27- O Brother, Where Art Thou?

    Episode 27 Album: O Brother, Where Art Thou? Artist: Multi-Artist CT&OB wanted to try something new and the 3 of us each picked an album, then had you guys pick which you wanted to hear. This album went up against Vince Gill and & Holy Roller; we will be doing those in the near future. CT&OB listened to the soundtrack and watched the movie, well 2/3s of us did. =) The movie is a loose interpretation of the Odyssey by the Coen Brothers. O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a Depression-era adventure about three escaped convicts traveling across Mississippi in search of hidden treasure. The Coen Brothers created this movie loosely inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. We recommend you watching the movie when you get a chance. The O Brother, Where Art Thou? Soundtrack is a mix of bluegrass, gospel, and blues that helps capture the Depression-era feel. This soundtrack has many notable artists that include Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, and of course the Soggy Bottom Boys.     Ep 26- Eleven Winners By Merle Haggard & the Strangers w/ Tyler-James Kelly

    Episode 24 Album: Eleven Winners Artist: Merle Haggard and The Strangers  Special Guest: Tyler-James Kelly CT&OB was in Nashville for our Very Good Friend Danielle's Birthday. We got to see a bunch of our great friends, see some Amazing artists but also talk with a few artists on our podcast. CT&OB met up with Tyler-James Kelly after a long night of celebrating our friend Danielle’s “30th” Birthday. Tyler picked the album Eleven Winners by Merle Haggard. We joked that Tyler picked this album because of him being an old soul but honestly this was a great album! We've talked about how the album has songs that have pain and the characters in the songs were not "winners". Tyler told us stories about about Merle that CT&OBs didn't know. Dwight brings his California Bakersfield sound to us and we enjoyed this record. We talked not only about this album being very Honky Tonky but Dwight & his jeans, the deep lyrics and how Dwight does a great job with doing covers by making them his own.     Ep 23- Blue Sky Sundays by JD Clayton

    Episode 23 Album: Blue Sky Sundays Artist: JD Clayton CT&OB loves when we get a "1st time" when recording. In this "1st time" we had an artist request us to do their newest album. JD Clayton reached out to us after we did an episode covering his album "Long Way From Home". CT&OB was excited to hear that JD listened to our episode and WANTED us to do another! When we started CT&OB, we made a rule to not do records under a year because we didn't want it to sound like a review, but once we talked we agreed to do an episode about "Blue Sky Sundays" (*because rules are meant to be broken*). CT&OB had a fun doing this episode, especially since we recently did 2 of JD's albums closer together. This record is very 'down home sounding', you can turn this record on and see the stories unfold. Brent met us at Grant's Lounge with a few guitars and a pocket beer. We LOVED every moment with Brent, he is a very genuine man and it shows in his music.
