    How to Take a Sabbatical

Here’s my quick how-to, with loads of permission to make it your own. * Do you need your own version of this? You might need your own great pause if you are in that space between what was and what is next. This could look like wrapping up a big project, on the verge of total burnout, on the cusp of starting something new, in any space that feels like a transition. You could also just decide you want one without any justification. * When and for how long will you take your pause? I originally wanted a long weekend (untethering), I advocated for something that is measured in months (sabbatical), I am leaning into taking the entire month of August (a great pause). All of this to say, there are no rules you can make this your own. I think the only question is how quickly you can shed your day-to-day responsibilities, and for how long can do it? * Who Will You Be during your great pause? An explorer (think: travel and new experiences), an achiever (think: write a book), a self-discoverer (think: recover from burnout or heal from heartbreak). Or maybe it’s a category you create on your own. Answer this question: what will you immerse yourself in & who will you be during this time away? * Why Is It So Important for you to do this thing? What is one of your non-negotiables for how you want to live your life? You can tie it back to one of those. How do you want to feel? That could be your why. If and when resistance comes, this will keep you going! * Don’t just dream about it, book it! There is something that happens when we take an idea we’ve been thinking about and start taking action on it! Save the date, block the calendar, communicate your pause: whatever the next step is, do it! Get full access to Steph DeYoung at stephdeyoung.substack.com/subscribe

    Falling in Love Again

Your habits should be making you hotter, richer, smarter, and healthier. And if they’re not, it’s either time for new habits or time to fall in love again with your existing ones. This is how you return to your enthusiasm for better habits without having to adopt brand new ones. Here are 3 questions you can ask yourself: * What has worked in the past? What once LIT MY HEART ON FIRE and made me so excited to get out of bed. * What would the today-me version of that look like? * Based on this list: what do I want to “try on” again, and how long do I want to try it for? Because navigating to our enthusiasm is how we manifest, how we attract, and how we call in the life of our dreams. You know I love a 21-day experiment, but permission for this one to make it a week. How to work with me: I am onto something here with tuning into your enthusiasm, and I’m going to shout it from the rooftops! Here are some options for taking this concept off the page and into your life in the easiest way possible! * The Micro Dose: Join me in this session to return to your enthusiasm with your habits! Learn More Here Hi, I'm Steph And I believe that our habits should be making us hotter, richer, smarter, or healthier. And if they aren’t, it’s time for better habits. Building a habit of focus is what makes us smarter, but a habit of flow state hits all 4. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself, even if on your own. This newsletter is dedicated to sharing my own experiments with habits, rituals and tuning my frequency to attract opportunity (instead of chase it). This is my passion project. My highest hope is that in sharing what’s going on for me it can stoke your inner passion and encourage you to take a big bite out of life by going after yours.
