ACIM Meditation: When Jesus says, in the Epilogue to the Workbook, “He has earned your trust by speaking daily to you of your Father and your brother and your Self,” He shows us that He uses our voice. This meditation continues in that spirit. Here is the transcript so you can record it in your own voice, speaking as your Self: Meditation: This is designed as a meditation on forgiveness for you to copy. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Let all thoughts of the world and the body disappear… if they linger, that’s ok. Don’t fight them. Thoughts cannot harm you here. When they come, you see that you are “watching an oddly assorted procession going by, which has little if any personal meaning to you.” (WB 10) You are safe here. You do not walk alone. It is impossible that you are alone. Say to yourself: it is impossible that I walk alone. It is impossible that I walk alone. He walks with me; my great companion is always with me. Now, I lend my eyes, ears, and voice to Him who walks with me. Jesus, speak to me. [pause] Sit quietly and look upon the world you see, and tell yourself: “The real world is not like this. It has no buildings and there are no streets where people walk alone and separate. There are no stores where people buy an endless list of things they do not need. It is not lit with artificial light, and night comes not upon it. There is no day that brightens and grows dim. There is no loss. Nothing is there but shines, and shines forever. … The world you see must be denied, for sight of it is costing you a different kind of vision.” (Ch. 13. VII) You are not aware of truth, right now, because you decided against it; you cherished specialness instead; your chosen friends -: sin, guilt, and fear have been your companions. Because you believed the Son of God is guilty, you seem to “walk along the carpet of time, believing that it leads to death. And the journey seems long and cruel and senseless, for so it is until you choose again.” I am here to help you by looking with you upon the devastation and opening your eyes to the world you made. Together we shine a light. Look with me upon what you made. Not to judge it. Not to understand it. Not to make it real—but only to see that it has no value and cannot make you happy. You will see that it has no value and cannot make you happy as you trust in Me and look with Me. Look with me and you will see, this world you seem to live in is not home to you. Somewhere in your mind, you know that this is true. Now, you can see that all you think you know is just a block to the awareness of Love’s presence. It’s a little cloud that seems to cover the Sun and yet has no power at all. The world you think you see is not there. There is no world; that is the central message the Course was sent to teach. “This is the truth, at first to be but said and then repeated many times; and next to be accepted as but partly true, with many reservations. Then to be considered seriously more and more, and finally accepted as the truth.” (WB 284) There is no world… There is no world… There is no world. You never walked streets. You have always been safe at home. You are dreaming of exile. You have no eyes that see; no ears that hear; no hand to hold. All your senses were designed to witness to devastating consequences of the belief in separation. Just for a while, right now, holding my hand – look upon that belief and smile at it with me. All of the vestiges of hell, your secret sins and hidden hates be gone. Nothing you have ever thought, said, or done or believed changed Heaven. brief pause It did not change God’s mind about you. Not one note in Heaven’s song was missed. There is nothing to fear. Recognize: you never had control over what the Truth is. This will set you free from the belief you can change God’s mind about you. You are his beloved child in whom He is well pleased. You can look upon all the darkness you think is there, with Me and see it for the nothingness it is. Do not look to the world for permission to do so. Your job is only to accept forgiveness. Say with gentle insistence: I will step back and let Him lead the way. Be sure it is done. When doubts come again; say again, I will step back and let Him lead the way. Your peace is the proof you stepped back. The only way is to walk together. Trust in me who speaks of God to you; in a language you can understand and Love. “Be not afraid. We only start again an ancient journey long ago begun that but seems new. We have begun again upon a road we travelled on before and lost our way a little while. And now we try again. Our new beginning has the certainty the journey lacked till now. Look up and see His Word among the stars, where He has set your Name along with His. Look up and find your certain destiny the world would hide but God would have you see.” (C-ep.3) Take my hand and let me lead you to the secret place you forgot.
