    The Merry Gentlemen

    Does Netflix’s new release for 2024, The Merry Gentlemen, live up to its reputation as the Magic Mike of Christmas movies? No! And boy do we have a lot to say about why. Netflix’s Love Hard (2021) is a movie Nicole calls the offspring of How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days and She’s All That.  We wanted even more discourse so we’re trying a new format this week where we speed-run our summary of the movie so we can get to the juicy stuff. What biases do dating platforms reproduce? Why can’t these characters connect to their own desires? Can you even catfish in a queer community? Justice for all the chubby, rat-tailed, mulleted, stone cold weirdos out there!     Gay tidings and happy December! We are starting season 3 with Vanessa Hudgen’s Netflix christmas classic, The Knight Before Christmas. The anachronisms are neither hither nor tither in this delightfully bland movie.
