Aged 36, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. During my diagnosis, I witnessed women in a similar situation, and saw exactly what was on offer for people suffering from hair loss. Long story short, the services were not good enough. This podcast has been created to provide honest and straight-talking advice through real conversations with awe-inspiring guests—individuals who have experienced hair loss, faced cancer, and provide unwavering support in these areas. They've cleared hurdles, broken barriers, and their stories are nothing short of life-affirming. Hair Boss Not Hair Loss isn't just about surviving, it's about thriving.     Today, I’m joined by Karen Verrill, Centre Head at Maggie’s Newcastle, who shares her vast experience and wisdom from over 20 years working in cancer care. Karen began her nursing career across A&E, operating theatres, intensive care and hospices in hospitals throughout Newcastle and North Tyneside. For the past two decades, she has specialised in cancer care, with a strong belief in the power of professionally moderated peer support.
