148: Marcus Fenix Vs Jim Raynor

Sony gets dragged, Nintendo gets chaotic, and a sci-fi showdown on Nuketown turns into one of the wildest breakdowns yet. If you care about game news, weird industry moves, and a deep dive into two armored legends colliding, this episode has a little bit of everything. John and Dean kick things off with a stacked news run: new release dates, Epic Games freebies, Kojima leaving PlayStation for Xbox, Sony’s digital ownership drama, the absurdly fast progress on a PS5 emulator, No Man’s Sky’s latest anniversary update, and even a bizarre Miami plan to turn parts of the city into real-life Vice City. They also hit indie standouts like Tenebris Somnia, The Isle, Broke Wizards, Rewindead, Active Matter, Mayhem a la carte, and Smash Royale. Then the episode shifts into the main event: Sci-Fi September brings Marcus Fenix from Gears of War face-to-face with Jim Raynor from StarCraft. You’ll hear both characters broken down in detail, from their military histories and signature weapons to the brutal tech and battlefield tools that make them so dangerous. We break down how each fighter actually wins, what their armor and loadouts mean in a real matchup, and why this battle is much closer than it first looks.  Please consider leaving us a 5 Star Rating and/or Review, so we can continue to grow! 147: Prophet Vs Adam Jensen

What's Up Gamers?! Sony’s latest moves, Xbox cloud limits, and a bizarre White House game portal all collide in a gaming news episode that turns into something even better: a full-on sci-fi showdown for the ages. If you care about where gaming is headed, what’s getting worse, and which iconic armored hero would actually win in a fight, this one is for you. John and Dean kick things off with the week’s biggest releases and Epic’s free games before tearing into the stories everyone’s arguing about - from rumored layoffs tied to a surprise Star Wars hit, to NVIDIA’s troubling DLSS 5 performance claims, to Microsoft quietly tightening the leash on cloud gaming. Then the gloves come off for a Sony segment that blends customer-service backlash, physical media rage, and a bigger question about what you actually own when you buy digital games. They also react to the State of Play comments section chaos, the White House’s surreal arcade game site, a Tetris copyright response, possible chip shortages, and a handful of new indie games that sound completely unhinged in the best way - including paranormal FBI agents, a narrator-defying horror game, a stream-fueled co-op mess, and an anomaly-sorting simulator that sounds like work in disguise. Then comes the main event: Sci Fi September begins with a brutal character battle between Adam Jensen and Prophet, packed with deep lore, cybernetic upgrades, tactical improvisation, and way too many ways to maim someone in a sci-fi lobby. If you love gaming news, nerd arguments, and character matchups that spiral beautifully out of control, this episode is essential listening. What's up Gamers?! For this week's episode, we were tasked to review the 2026 Horror Gas Station Simulation game "Goo Deer!" Goo Deer is a first-person horror gas station management simulator developed and published by VML Studios, released for PC on Steam on June 22, 2026. The game blends traditional business simulation mechanics with survival horror, pushing the familiar storefront management loop into a much darker, unsettling direction. Core Gameplay & PremiseThe Product: You manage a gas station in a foggy world where customers are rabidly addicted to a strange, literal drink made from liquified deer meat called "Goo Deer". Management Simulation: The primary loop involves upgrading the station, mopping up messes, ringing up customers, and managing inventory and employees to keep up with rising demand. Hunting & Crafting: To keep the shelves stocked, you must venture out of the safety of the station into a fogbound forest. You hunt deer for meat and bring it down to a hidden basement to process into the drink using various machines. The Threat: While hunting for ingredients in the mist, you are stalked by a dangerous entity known as the "Deer Man," turning the resource-gathering phase into a high-stakes survival encounter.
