Gray’s weapon is literally evolving with every kill, Deimos refuses to go back to sleep, and Waste’s whole aesthetic is turning into “I’ve survived too many boss fights.” Ashlyn finally learns the truth about Gray’s kidnapping, Sorin makes a deal he instantly regrets, and the dream‑world becomes a full‑on training arc. Inside the dreamscape, Papa Deimos is out here giving augmentation lessons while casually explaining how Death Lords, abyssal dragons, and soul‑grafting actually work. Naiad’s rise? Terrifying. The abyssal hells collapsing? Even worse. Magic fading from the world? No pressure. Meanwhile, Kristoff drags Gray into a “stop messing with ancient evil” talk, Ashlyn opens up about her family tearing her down, and Gray decides he’s going to win competitions just to prove everyone wrong.     Gray’s Awakening: Training, Tension, and Rising Power at the Arcanist Academy: Abyssal Arcanist 6-10

    As Gray struggles with the fallout of recent events, tensions rise on all sides. Kristof’s blunt hostility and fierce protectiveness over Rylee leave Gray feeling exposed and self‑conscious, especially after Kristof vows to kill him if she’s ever endangered again. Sorin confronts Gray about his constant lying, reminding him that he can deceive anyone except his own brother — a moment that forces Gray to finally commit to becoming stronger.The boys rally around him in their own chaotic way, transforming their dorm into a “man cave” with all the beds arranged in a protective circle around Gray’s. Knovak still flinches away from him, but the group insists on testing Gray’s strength, pushing him to break a bed as a strange rite of passage.Meanwhile, Sorin and Nini brainstorm ways to help Gray train, even suggesting a mimic arcanist. Gray briefly enjoys the peace of being outdoors, daydreaming about flying on a dragon before remembering he doesn’t have one. Fundraisers and first‑year events fill the academy grounds, but Gray’s mind is on Ashlyn, who still hasn’t returned after the cotillion explosion. Twain reassures him she’s fine — probably untouched by the blast.Combat Arts begins under Professor Jijo and his nimbus dragon, replacing the expected instructor. Phila refuses to learn physical combat and instead chooses magical archery, while Gray surprises himself with an instinctive eye for bow quality. Jijo’s dramatic archery demonstration — complete with ripping off his shirt at impossible speed — kicks off a chaotic round of shots from Raaza, Sorin, and Nini. Gray attempts Jijo’s technique and lands a wild, lucky hit using a horseback‑style move he didn’t even know he had in him.But beneath the surface, something darker is stirring.
