Meet Me in the Middle is a video podcast co-hosted by Lindsay Pollard and Joy Martin. The heartbeat of the show is to interview individuals-- highlighting their stories that are still "in the middle" ... (1) of their mess or waiting on that miracle, promise or prayer answered; (2) of race and cultural issues; (3) stories of those who are marginalized, unnoticed, with limited resources or opportunity. Our prayer is that as you hear the stories of others, you'll find HOPE in the Father's love as you navigate through the MIDDLE.

    In our final episode with Laveta Lampkin, she shares some lingering effects of a life-altering aneurysm whom she affectionately named, "Eddie." During the time when she had to "sit in her sickness," she learned to "go to God" and trust Him as she waited. Her words, "Much success, no stress & lots of happiness" carried her through some down, depressed days. Turns out, this aneurysm event may have been part of her rescue from too much stress.     As we start 2024, we begin with some vital topics interviewing individuals "in the trenches" doing the hard work to bring about lasting change in our communities. Meet TIFFANY MARTIN of the DandeLion House, a non-profit in New Market, Alabama. Tiffany is professionally trained doula as well as being in the process of completing her training in midwifery, soon gaining her Associates of Science in Midwifery and further attaining her license to specialize in home births. Tiffany founded the DandeLion Difference, an initiative "focused on reducing maternal health disparity, providing compassionate and quality care to low income and young mothers in need, and improving birth outcomes in Alabama and the Tennessee Valley area." (from CAPPA, https://cappa.net/cappamember/tiffany... ) In this first of 3 episodes, we seek to give an overview of the health care crisis-- especially as it relates to the state of Alabama. Tiffany's path as a doula and soon a licensed midwife is very much connected to a spiritual calling as she shares a kingdom perspective. Be sure to listen as she talks about "assignments from the Father," "listening to God in the shower," how midwifery connects with social justice and statistics related to pregnancy and delivery for women of color.
