The FIERCE Framework - Becoming fierce through messy action, baby steps, & cultivating confidence.

The F.I.E.R.C.E. Framework

This podcast is all about being your authentic self, living your life with purpose, and taking a chance on things you’ve always wanted to try. I started this podcast to give you what I wish I had a few years ago when I felt stuck, like I was checking all the boxes and getting nowhere in my life. I want to be that for you - someone in your corner believing that “yes, you f*****g can”, reminding you there’s nothing wrong with you, and rooting for you to achieve whatever you decide success looks like for you.

    91. Why You Don’t Need Clarity to Start (Especially If You’re Overthinking Everything)

If you’ve ever felt stuck waiting for the “right” plan, the perfect idea, or full clarity before you start, this episode is for you. Today, I’m talking about something I see all the time, especially with high-achievers and ADHD brains: the habit of overthinking our way into inaction. We tell ourselves we just need a little more clarity, a better plan, or more certainty before we begin. But the truth? Clarity doesn’t come before action. Clarity comes from action.  In this episode, I’m breaking down why waiting until everything feels “figured out” actually keeps you stuck, and how to start moving forward in a way that feels doable, not overwhelming. I share how I navigated this in my own life, from starting a travel blog (without knowing where it would lead) to eventually building my coaching business. None of it started with a perfect plan, but every step gave me the feedback I needed to move forward. We’ll talk about how to use “baby steps” to get out of analysis paralysis, why experimenting is one of the most powerful tools you have, and how to focus on becoming instead of arriving. Because the goal isn’t to get it perfect—it’s to get in motion. 🔑 Key Takeaways  Clarity comes from action, not before it. You don’t think your way into knowing, you move your way into it. Perfectionism often shows up as “planning.” But too much planning without action is just a socially acceptable way to stay stuck. Baby steps create momentum. Small, low-pressure actions give you real feedback without the overwhelm. You don’t need the full roadmap. You just need the first step.   Think “vibe” over perfect plan. You can course-correct as you go. Experimentation is the fastest way to learn. Try things before committing long-term. Action helps you figure out what actually fits. You’re not behind. You’re becoming. There is no final destination where you suddenly “arrive” fully ready. How to Reinvent Yourself Without Burning Out: Small Steps, Big Life Changes

Reinventing yourself sounds exciting… until you’re actually in it. In this episode, I’m joined by Mary and Shauna for a real, honest conversation about what it actually looks like to step into a new chapter of your life especially when it feels uncertain, uncomfortable, or just plain scary. We talk about the messy middle of growth. The part where you’re letting go of who you’ve always been, but you’re not fully sure who you’re becoming yet. I share my own experience of releasing the identity of being “the responsible one” and how that role, while helpful at one point, started to feel draining and out of alignment. Shauna opens up about reinventing her life after divorce, and Mary talks about shifting away from rigid expectations and learning to trust the unknown. This conversation is a reminder that reinvention isn’t about becoming someone completely different overnight. It’s about making small, intentional changes, building self-trust, and allowing your next chapter to unfold over time. We also dive into: Why fear and courage exist at the same time (and why that’s a good thing) Letting go of identities that no longer fit The role of self-reflection in personal growth How to stay grounded in gratitude while still wanting more The importance of surrounding yourself with supportive people If you’ve been feeling the pull to change something in your life, but you’re not sure where to start, this episode will meet you right where you are. 🔑 Key Takeaways Reinvention isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a series of small, intentional choices You don’t have to feel confident to start, you just need the courage to start Letting go of an old identity can feel uncomfortable, even when it’s necessary You can be grateful for your life and still want more for yourself Growth takes time. There’s no sustainable shortcut The people you surround yourself with matter more than you think Mentions + Resources: Follow MaryBeth on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thefierceframework/  Join the email list! 90. How to Break Dreams Into Small, Doable Steps (Especially if you have ADHD)

Big goals can feel exciting… and overwhelming at the same time. If you’ve ever looked at a dream you care about and thought “Where do I even start?” you’re not alone. In this episode, I’m talking about the balance between keeping your big vision in mind while focusing on the small steps that actually move you forward. I share one of my favorite ways to think about progress: holding both the bird’s-eye view of your goals and the tiny mouse steps that help you get there. Because while the vision gives us direction, it’s the small, doable actions that create real momentum. I also talk about how ADHD, perfectionism, and overwhelm can make big goals feel impossible—and how breaking things down into milestones and manageable steps can completely change the experience. If you’ve been feeling stuck, scattered, or unsure how to move forward with a big dream, this episode will help you shift your perspective and start making progress again. Because the truth is: dreams don’t become reality all at once—they’re built one small step at a time. Key Takeaways: Big goals require both vision and small, consistent action.A bird’s-eye view helps you stay connected to your bigger purpose.Tiny, manageable steps make progress feel achievable.• Breaking goals into milestones helps you avoid overwhelm and stay focused. The fastest way to build momentum is simply to start with the smallest step available. If this conversation helped you rethink how you approach big goals, I’d love for you to share the episode or send it to a friend who might need the reminder that small steps still count. And if you're working toward something meaningful right now, ask yourself one simple question: What’s the smallest step I could take today? That step is where progress begins. 89. Turning Dreams Into Reality: How to Focus, Initiate, and Take Consistent Action (Even With ADHD)

If you’ve ever had a big dream but felt stuck on how to actually make it happen, this episode is for you. In this episode, I’m sharing the first two steps of my dream-achievement framework: Focus and Initiate. We talk about why dreaming isn’t the hard part, execution is and how most people get overwhelmed by trying to change everything at once. I walk you through a real example from my own life: my long-term goal of spending winters on a beach instead of freezing in Colorado. I break down how I turned that vague dream into a tangible goal, mapped out milestones, and started taking consistent action even when motivation wasn’t there. This conversation is especially for my ADHD folks who tend to juggle too many goals at once and end up stuck. We talk about how to choose one priority for a season, anchor new actions to existing routines, and build momentum through small, doable steps. This episode is part of a larger podcast framework I’ll be guiding you through over the coming months, covering Initiate, Empower, Romanticize, Cultivate, and Execute so you can stop waiting for the “right time” and start creating a life that actually fits you. What You’ll Learn in This Episode Why having a dream isn’t enough and what actually turns it into reality The difference between vague dreams and actionable goals How small milestones build confidence for bigger dreams Key Topics Covered Turning dreams into goals you can act on Focus as the foundation for sustainable progress Breaking big dreams into milestones and next steps Consistent action vs waiting to feel readSeasonal priorities instead of life overhaulsKey Takeaways You don’t need to figure out the entire path, you just need the next step Focus is a strategy, not a limitation Initiating action matters more than feeling motivated One clear priority beats ten half-started goals Small, consistent steps compound into real change Dreams become achievable when they’re tangible and time-bound Action Step for Listeners Pick one dream you’ve been holding onto and ask yourself: What would make this more specific? What’s one milestone I could aim for in the next 3–6 months? What is one small action I could take this week to initiate momentum? You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need to start. Work With Me If you want support turning your goals into something sustainable (especially if you have ADHD and traditional goal-setting hasn’t worked for you), I’d love to help. Coaching is where we take this framework and apply it directly to your life, your energy, and your priorities. Trusting the Process: Growth, Timing, and Becoming Your Future Self

If you’ve been feeling behind, impatient with your progress, or quietly wondering if you’re doing life “wrong,” this episode is for you. This episode is all about trusting the process, honoring the journey you’re in, and understanding that who you are becoming is shaped in the moments that feel uncomfortable, slow, or messy. In this episode, we talk about:  Why the journey itself is required to become your future self Redefining failure and questioning whether it actually exists the way we were taught Creating community and learning how to intentionally build a support system instead of trying to do everything alone Letting yourself feel your feelings and “complete the circuit” instead of numbing or rushing past them Giving yourself permission to do life messy, imperfect, and one step at a time Key Takeaways: Growth isn’t about rushing through steps, it’s about living them. Every season, challenge, pause, and pivot is shaping you into the person you’re becoming. When you stop fighting the process and start trusting it, everything begins to shift. Trusting that you’ll figure out the next step as you go allows you to be present in the moment and get those most out of the step you’re on right now.  Trusting the process doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means staying engaged, supported, and willing to take the next honest step. Emotions are not something to fix or avoid. Feeling them fully is part of how growth actually completes. You are not behind. You are learning, becoming, and building something real in your own timing. Listen If You’re: Feeling behind in life or questioning your progress Navigating a transition and unsure who you’re becoming Craving deeper support, connection, or community Learning how to trust yourself and your decisions Ready to stop rushing your life and start honoring your process Mentions + Resources: Follow MaryBeth on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thefierceframework/  Join the email list! 88. When Goals Compete: How to Make Aligned Decisions Without Self-Betrayal

In this episode, I’m diving into something that comes up constantly for ambitious, multi-passionate people, especially ADHDers: what do you do when your goals feel like they’re competing with each other? I talk through my own experience of postponing solo travel plans because of financial instability and the guilt spiral that followed. Was I being responsible or was I betraying myself? That question opened up a much bigger conversation about how we make decisions, what we label as “conflicting priorities,” and how often we frame choices in a way that automatically makes us lose. We explore how zooming out can completely change the decision. Instead of seeing goals as opposing forces, I invite you to look at them as interconnected parts of a larger mission. Financial stability, travel, career growth, rest, parenting, and self-care aren’t separate identities competing for attention. They’re all expressions of what you value. I also talk about self-trust. Not the motivational quote version, but the real kind that’s built through honesty, regular check-ins, and the ability to rebuild trust with yourself when plans change. Because the real fear usually isn’t choosing one goal over another. It’s worrying you won’t come back to the one you paused. If you’ve ever felt stuck between two “right” choices or afraid that picking one path means abandoning another forever, this episode is for you. What You’ll Hear in This Episode: Why goals often feel competitive when they’re actually connected The difference between personal goals and socially imposed expectations How zooming out helps you make decisions without self-betrayal How to tell when a choice is a pause versus a quit Using the “five whys” to uncover your real motivation How to rebuild self-trust after delays, detours, or setbacks Key Takeaways: Competing goals are often part of the same bigger mission Not every season allows for everything, and that’s not a failure Clarifying why you want something matters more than the timeline Self-care supports responsibility, it doesn’t undermine it Choosing one priority doesn’t mean abandoning the others The real decision is often whether you trust yourself to come back If you’re feeling torn between goals right now, I want you to know this: you’re not doing it wrong. You’re navigating complexity. And that requires more honesty and self-trust than hustle culture ever prepared us for. You’re allowed to choose what fits this season while still honoring the bigger vision for your life. And you’re allowed to change your mind, recalibrate, and rebuild trust with yourself along the way. 87. Stepping Back to Move Forward: How Preparation Creates Long-Term Success

In this episode, I’m talking about something that can feel deeply uncomfortable for driven, growth-oriented people, especially those of us with big dreams and ADHD brains: choosing to pause instead of pushing forward. I explore the difference between being ready and being prepared, and why waiting doesn’t automatically mean you’re quitting, failing, or betraying yourself. Using my own experience of postponing a long-planned trip to Belize, I share how stepping back for a year allowed me to build financial stability, pay down debt, and create habits that made the experience far more aligned and enjoyable when I finally went. We also dig into the tension between action and perfectionism. I talk about how growth often feels awkward and inauthentic at first, and why that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.  Becoming a new version of yourself is a process, not a performance, and clarity usually comes after you start moving, not before. This episode is especially for you if you’re wrestling with big decisions, questioning whether you’re moving too fast or too slow, or feeling guilt about postponing a goal that still matters to you. Sometimes, taking a step back isn’t avoidance. Sometimes, it’s strategy. What You’ll Hear in This Episode: The difference between feeling ready and being truly prepared Why stepping back can actually support long-term goals How perfectionism can disguise itself as “waiting for clarity” Why growth can feel forced or inauthentic before it feels natural How I reframed postponing my Belize trip as alignment, not failure Balancing practical realities like debt and finances with big life dreams How to tell the difference between intentional preparation and avoidance Key Takeaways: Pausing can be a powerful, aligned choice, not a step backward Growth often feels awkward before it feels authentic Clarity and confidence are built through action and reflection, not perfection Postponing a goal doesn’t mean abandoning it Financial stability and dream-building don’t have to be opposing forces Trusting yourself sometimes means choosing the slower, steadier path If you’re in a season where you’re questioning your pace, I want you to hear this clearly: you’re not behind. Sometimes the most self-trusting thing you can do is give yourself time to prepare, even when everything in you wants to rush ahead. If this episode resonated, come hang out with me on social media or join my newsletter, where I share more about sustainable growth, burnout-free progress, and building a life that actually fits you. The Burnout Wake-Up Call: How To Reclaim Your Energy Without Guilt

In this honest and heartfelt panel conversation, I’m joined by my friends Shauna B and Mary Dibble for a real discussion about burnout, what it actually looks like in everyday life, and why it’s so easy to miss the warning signs until we hit a breaking point. We talk openly about the moments that forced us to slow down, the conditioning that keeps us in survival mode, and the small but powerful mindset shifts that helped us begin refueling without guilt. This isn’t a conversation about doing more or managing your time better. It’s about understanding why burnout happens in the first place and how to reconnect with your energy, clarity, and sense of self before everything feels overwhelming. If you’re a working mom, an overachiever, or someone who gives deeply to others while quietly neglecting yourself, this episode is an invitation to pause, reflect, and remember that you deserve care too. In this episode, we explore: • The subtle and often ignored signs of burnout beyond physical exhaustion • Why so many of us push past our limits and struggle to rest • How societal pressure and survival mode keep women stuck in depletion • Simple, practical ways to recharge your energy even in busy seasons • The mindset shift that allows rest without guilt or self-judgment Key Takeaways: • Burnout doesn’t always look like being tired. It often shows up as irritability, brain fog, emotional disconnection, or feeling numb • You don’t need a full day off to refuel. Small, intentional pauses can restore energy and clarity • You don’t have to wait for a breakdown to give yourself permission to slow down • Reclaiming your energy starts with awareness, self-trust, and compassion Mentions + Resources: Follow MaryBeth on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thefierceframework/  Join MaryBeth’s email list!
