Are They a Narcissist… or Is It You?

Send us Fan Mail What if the person everyone else thinks is wonderful is the person making you question your own sanity? This week on Sassy Chanelle, we're talking about narcissism — but we're also turning the mirror around. What does narcissistic behavior actually look like? When is someone showing a concerning pattern, and when are we taking completely normal human emotions — jealousy, defensiveness, insecurity, selfishness — and turning them into a diagnosis? Because sometimes the problem really is the other person. And sometimes… we need to take a good look at ourselves. In this episode, I share some of my own experience with relationships that left me walking on eggshells, second-guessing myself and wondering whether I was the problem. We talk about the red flags I've learned to pay attention to, including: What happens when you say noWhether there's room for your feelingsWhere accountability goes during conflictWhat it means when their needs consistently outrank yoursWhat to notice when you stop trusting yourselfAnd why the mirror has to point both waysThis isn't about diagnosing your partner, your ex, your mother, your friend — or yourself. I'm not a psychologist or therapist, and narcissistic personality disorder is a clinical diagnosis that belongs with qualified professionals. This conversation is about recognizing recurring patterns, examining how our relationships affect us, and being willing to ask the uncomfortable question: What am I contributing to this relationship, too? Because self-awareness isn't an accusation. It's information. 🎙️ New episodes of Sassy Chanelle every Wednesday. No One Can Claim Her: Dolly Parton

Send us Fan Mail Was Dolly Parton a feminist? A liberal? A conservative? Or was she simply Dolly? We love putting people into boxes. We decide what someone believes, which side they're on, and whether they're one of “us” or one of “them.” But Dolly Parton spent a lifetime making that almost impossible. She championed women without necessarily embracing the feminist label. She supported the LGBTQ+ community. She put books into the hands of millions of children. She built an extraordinary business empire, held onto her independence, talked about her faith, protected her private life, and somehow managed to stand for things without constantly telling the rest of us what we should believe. But that's only part of why I wanted to talk about her. Because there's another question I've been thinking about: Why can losing someone we've never met hurt so much? In this episode of Sassy Chanelle, we're talking about the Dolly behind the rhinestones. Jolene. 9 to 5. I Will Always Love You. Hard Candy Christmas. Her business instincts, women's empowerment, politics, the Imagination Library, the labels people tried to give her, and her determination to remain exactly who she was. I'm also talking about my own memories of Dolly: how Hard Candy Christmas connects me to my mom and childhood Christmases, what I Will Always Love You once meant during a breakup, and why a trip I already had planned to see Dolly's story on Broadway now means something entirely different. Maybe that's what was so unusual about Dolly Parton. People with completely different beliefs could look at her and see something they recognized. But none of us get to claim her. And maybe that's exactly why all of us could love her. Anyway, that's just my perspective. 🎙️ SASSY CHANELLE WITH CHRISTI CHANELLE New episodes every Wednesday 🎧 Podcast: Midnight Central Time 📺 YouTube: 10:00 AM Central Time Find me: TikTok: @ChristiChanelle Instagram: @ChristiChanelle YouTube: Sassy Chanelle Substack: Sassy Chanelle Bluesky: Sassy Chanelle Support the show Watch the episodes on YOUTUBE: Sassy Politics https://www.youtube.com/@Sassypolitics Website https://christichanelle.com/ TikTok- ChristiChanelle https://www.tiktok.com/@christichanelle?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Facebook - Sassy Politics https://www.facebook.com/SassyPolitics Instagram- ChristiChanelle https://www.instagram.com/christichanelle/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

Hayden Panettiere: I Wasn’t Prepared for This

Send us Fan Mail Hayden Panettiere was only 36 years old, but the more I learned about her life, the more I realized how much of her story I never knew. I started listening to Hayden’s memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, narrated by Hayden herself, and then I went down the rabbit hole. Her childhood in Hollywood. Remember the Titans. Heroes. Fame. Relationships. Motherhood. Addiction. The people surrounding her. The things she survived. And the decisions she made when her life became complicated. Then there is everything that happened after the book. In this episode of Sassy Chanelle, we’re talking about Hayden’s story, the headlines surrounding her death, the unanswered questions, and why listening to her tell her own story changed the way I saw her. This isn’t about reducing Hayden Panettiere to the way her life ended. It’s about understanding the woman who lived it. 🎙️ Sassy Chanelle New episodes every Wednesday. 📺 YouTube: @SassyChanelle 📸 Instagram: @ChristiChanelle 🎵 TikTok: @ChristiChanelle 📝 Substack: SassyChanelle NEXT WEDNESDAY: Join me for a full book review of Hayden Panettiere’s memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning. NOLAN WELLS AND EVERY PARENT’S FEAR

Send us Fan Mail Nolan Wells was 18 years old. My son Trevor turned 18 last week. After hearing the recording from the boat, I couldn’t move on to either of the other episodes I had planned. The chaos in the background, Nolan’s friends screaming, and the realization that an ordinary day at the lake could become the worst day of a family’s life stayed with me. In this episode, I talk about what it feels like to raise a child for 18 years, teach them everything you can, and then somehow find the courage to let them go. I also discuss the unanswered questions surrounding Nolan’s death, his family’s continued search for answers, and the people helping keep attention on his case. Nolan was more than a headline. He was an athlete, a young man with plans, and somebody’s son. My heart is with the Wells family as they continue fighting for the truth. Rest in peace, Nolan Wells. The Forgotten Wife of Albert Einstein

Send us Fan Mail What if one of the greatest scientific minds in history wasn't the only genius in the room? This week on Sassy Politics, Christi Chanelle explores the life of Mileva Marić, Albert Einstein's first wife, accomplished physicist, and one of history's most debated forgotten women. Did she contribute to Einstein's groundbreaking work? What do we actually know, and where does the evidence end and the speculation begin? This episode isn't about rewriting history. It's about asking why some stories are remembered while others quietly disappear. We'll look at the facts surrounding Mileva's education, her partnership with Einstein, and why her name continues to spark debate more than a century later. Because sometimes the most important question isn't whether history lied. It's what history chose to leave out. Listen wherever podcasts are streamed or watch the full episode on YouTube. LOOK AGAIN.

Send us Fan Mail Sometimes the biggest story isn't the headline. It's what it reveals about us. I actually re-recorded this episode. Not because I got something wrong. Not because I changed my mind. But because I realized I hadn't gone far enough. As new information continues to emerge in the Nolan Wells case, it's important to let evidence guide our conclusions. We owe every person due process, and we should be willing to change our understanding as new facts become available. But there's one conversation we don't need to wait to have. This episode isn't about solving a case. It's about racism, silence, listening, and the responsibility we all have to speak up when hatred shows up in our families, workplaces, friendships, and communities. Listening is where the conversation starts. It shouldn't be where it ends. Disclaimer The views expressed in this episode are my own and are based on publicly available information at the time of recording. The Nolan Wells investigation is ongoing, and facts may continue to evolve. Everyone deserves due process, and I encourage listeners to follow credible reporting as new verified information becomes available. CERN: The Top 5 Theories You Can't Ignore

Send us Fan Mail What happens when one of the world's greatest scientific achievements becomes the center of some of the internet's biggest mysteries? This week on Sassy Politics, we're diving into CERN, the Large Hadron Collider, and the five biggest theories people are talking about online. I'm not a physicist, and I don't claim to be. I'm just really freaking curious. In this episode, we separate the science from the speculation, explore where these theories came from, and ask why so many people are fascinated by them. From the Mandela Effect to alternate realities, we're pulling on the thread to better understand what people believe—and why. Whether you're skeptical, convinced, or just curious, this episode is about asking better questions and thinking critically together. In This Episode • What CERN actually does  • The Top 5 CERN theories circulating online  • The science behind the Large Hadron Collider  • Why these theories continue to spread  • Why curiosity and critical thinking belong in the same conversation Discussion Which theory have you heard before? Did any of them surprise you? If you could ask a CERN scientist one question, what would it be? Leave a comment. I read them all, and many of them inspire future episodes. Disclaimer The theories discussed in this episode are presented as topics of public discussion and internet culture. They are not presented as established fact. My goal is to explore ideas, compare them with available evidence, and encourage curiosity and critical thinking.
