Armando Salud-Ambriz was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States with his family as an infant. Raised in a farmworking family in rural Northern California, Armando grew up working alongside his parents in the orchards an experience that shaped his commitment to public service and ensuring people from every background have a voice in their communities.  His career in elections began more than 17 years ago with the California Secretary of State’s Office and has since taken him through election leadership roles in Sacramento, Yolo, and Nevada counties. In 2025, Armando was appointed Nevada County’s Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters, where he now leads the county’s elections and clerk-recorder operations. His work has focused on election transparency and security, language accessibility, civic engagement, voter education, and finding innovative ways to make government more accessible to the people it serves.  Armando is a first-generation college graduate and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law. He has also served in numerous state and national election leadership roles and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of public servants.  Outside of work, Armando enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, giving back to his community, and finding just about any excuse to bring people together usually with good food, music, and plenty of good vibes.
