A fallout following a robbery spiralled into extreme violence when his former friend Alvin stabbed him 17 times with an ice pick, leaving Pepi clinically dead twice in hospital. Against all odds, he survived — and refused to name his attacker. Years later, fate brought them face-to-face again in a nightclub. An argument. A pool cue raised. A single stab with a small pen knife. One artery hit. Alvin ran from the club — and by morning, Pepi learned from the TV news that a murder enquiry had begun. Pepi didn’t serve his sentence quietly.
