The Mind of a Barkley Finisher: Nickademus de la Rosa Tells All

Welcome back to the RRR podcast, everyone! We're incredibly stoked to have a true legend of the ultrarunning world joining us today: Nickademus de la Rosa. For those who don't know, Nickademus is an absolute beast on the trails, known for his incredible endurance, mental fortitude, and a knack for conquering some of the toughest races out there. Most notably, Nickademus is a Barkley Marathons finisher – a feat that only a handful of runners have ever accomplished. This race is notorious for its brutal terrain, mind-bending navigation, and ridiculously low completion rate. We actually had the privilege of sitting down with Nickademus for a small group panel where we got to ask him some burning questions about his experiences pushing the limits of human endurance and what it takes to not only survive but thrive in the world of ultrarunning. So get ready to be inspired as we dive into the world of Nickademus de la Rosa! Bio: Hi, I'm Nick (Nickademus) A decade ago, I was fresh off of a win at Barkley Marathons and racing internationally against some of the best endurance athletes on the planet. I was at the height of my running career. My running defined all aspects of who I was. And then it all came crashing down. I spent the next several years rebuilding my relationship to sport, which took having to dig into who I was without it. For me, this meant learning to value myself beyond who I was as a runner and as an athlete. I want to help you build a more resilient, compassionate version of yourself by developing stronger self-awareness and adopting actionable psychological skills.
