In Episode 1 of Voices From Home, we begin by asking the question no one wants to confront: why does Sudan keep disappearing from global attention while millions suffer in silence? This episode unpacks selective empathy, media silence, compassion fatigue, and the dangerous myth that some crises are simply “too complicated” to care about. We talk honestly about why Sudan, despite facing famine, mass displacement, and extreme violence is still treated as background noise rather than a global emergency. This is my invitation to you, to sit with the truth long enough that it becomes impossible to unsee. If you want to understand Sudan beyond the algorithm, this is where we begin. We begin with the tough conversations that will one day break the chains, shatter the stereotypes, disprove the negative narratives ,and shape the world, here is where it begins.

In a desert alone with a baby and no food, not even any water, she never questioned why Allah brought her here. She never cursed her situation or her husband who left her there, she sought for a solution in the desert, praying to Allah and putting her trust in him. This is the story of the miracle of zamzam water, the story of Hajer (RA) and her trust in Allah when everything seemed impossible and all odds were against her.

We find difficulties in putting it on, then once we've worn it we are faced with the difficulties of being consistent. Where do we find peace? Through my journey I've learned that the love we have for the hijab has to come from within, that's the only way we'll remain consistent and pure in our intentions.
