There’s something scary about the vulnerability it requires—letting down walls I’ve carefully built and opening my heart to possibilities, not knowing if I’ll be met with connection or disappointment. Each interaction feels like stepping into the unknown, a reminder that true intimacy starts with trust, not just in others, but in myself. As I navigate these feelings, I’ve learned that the most important relationship is the one I nurture within, making sure my own heart is steady before inviting someone else into it.

    45 and Feeling Deeply: A Journey of Sensitivity and Strength

    At 45, I’ve found myself more emotional, sensitive, and loving than ever before. It’s as if time has peeled back layers, revealing a deeper connection to my feelings and the world around me. I no longer shy away from the emotions I once tried to suppress. Instead, I embrace them fully, knowing they bring richness to my relationships and experiences. Whether it’s the beauty in a quiet moment or the depth of a conversation, everything feels more profound. Yes, I’m more sensitive to criticism or harshness, but I’ve also grown more compassionate toward others and, more importantly, toward myself. In this phase of life, love feels more intentional, more patient, and more present, and I’m learning to lean into it, embracing the vulnerability it brings.     Mix & Mingle: Navigating the Singles Scene with Style

    Last night, I attended a singles mixer that promised to be a space for all genders and sexualities. It was an open, welcoming environment, buzzing with people from various walks of life, all exploring connections in their own way. Yet once again, I found myself as the only trans woman in the room. It’s a familiar experience, one that brings its own unique blend of emotions—an awareness of both visibility and invisibility, standing out while wondering if I truly fit in. I made some great connections and met new people, each with their own unique stories and experiences. The conversations flowed, and there was a certain energy in the room, but when it came to romance or that spark of love, it wasn’t quite in the air. While it was a fun and engaging night, the deeper connection I was hoping for didn’t quite materialize. Still, it was another step forward in the journey of finding love and or friendship.     In this second chapter of The Ick Rich Factor, we dive into the uncomfortable reality of toxic relationships, particularly when wealth and narcissism are involved. I had to make the tough decision to end a friendship because my friend’s boyfriend—a wealthy, narcissistic creep—just couldn’t take no for an answer. His entitled behavior was a red flag I couldn’t ignore. What made it worse was watching my friend excuse and enable his actions, despite the clear disrespect. It’s one thing to deal with someone’s partner being problematic, but when your friend starts accepting it, that’s when you have to re-evaluate the relationship. It’s not easy, but sometimes walking away is the healthiest choice, even when it’s painful. Let’s talk about how money and manipulation can warp people’s boundaries—and how to protect your own.
