Is The Church In The Tribulation (The Rapture Isn't A Secret - Part 2) | Matthew 24 | Matthew Maher

Few doctrines generate more confusion than the rapture — not because Scripture is unclear, but because different passages are often flattened into a single event. In Part 2 of this teaching, we return to the passages people struggle with most: Matthew 24. The “elect.” The last trumpet. The restrainer. Israel and the Church. Rather than avoiding these texts, we place them in their proper context and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. In this message, we explore: • Why Matthew 24 describes the Second Coming, not the rapture • Who the “elect” are — and why context matters • Why the “last trumpet” is not the same trumpet everywhere • What must be removed before the Antichrist is revealed • How salvation continues during the Tribulation • Why distinguishing Israel and the Church is foundational to biblical prophecy • Why imminence matters for how believers live today This doctrine was never meant to divide the Church. It was meant to anchor hope, fuel holiness, and produce urgency. Key Scriptures: Matthew 24, 1 Corinthians 15, 1 Thessalonians 4–5, 2 Thessalonians 2, Daniel 9 Be sure to subscribe to the Landmark Church YouTube Channel and wherever you access podcasts to stay updated on all upcoming sermons. Psalm 34: Not Safe, But Secure | Matthew Maher

Psalm 34 was written by David after one of the most humiliating moments of his life—when he fled for his life and pretended madness before King Achish in Gath. What followed was not bitterness or silence, but praise. This psalm shows us how public worship can be born from private crisis, and how deliverance does not always mean escape, but redemption. In this message, we walk through Psalm 34 as both wisdom and testimony, tracing David’s journey from fear to praise, from desperation to invitation, and from affliction to assurance. We discover that praise is not driven by feelings, but by focus; not shaped by circumstances, but by perspective. God delivers us not only from enemies, but from fear itself—and He draws especially near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34 also points us forward to Christ. David writes that God guards all the bones of the righteous, foreshadowing Jesus’ crucifixion, where not one of His bones was broken. Unbroken bones reveal unbroken promises. Righteousness does not exempt us from suffering, but it guarantees redemption through it. This psalm ends where the Gospel begins: rescue by redemption. Trusting the Lord does not remove tribulation, but it does remove condemnation. The Rapture Isn't A Secret (Part 1) | Revelation 3:10, 4:1 | Matthew Maher

In this message from our study through Revelation, we pause between chapters 3 and 4 to address one of the most debated doctrines in the New Testament: the rapture. Is it a modern invention, escapism, or a biblical promise spoken by Jesus Himself? Starting with Revelation 3:10 (“I will keep you from the hour of trial…”) and Revelation 4:1 (“Come up here…”), we trace the storyline of Scripture to show why the rapture is not a secret idea, but a consistent biblical expectation. We examine the promise of being kept from the coming “hour,” the structure of Revelation, Old Testament foreshadows (Enoch and Noah), Jesus’ own teaching (John 14; Luke 21; Luke 17), and Paul’s clear explanation of the catching away (1 Thessalonians 4; 1 Corinthians 15). This teaching is not meant to divide the Church, but to comfort, purify, and awaken the Church as we await our Groom—Jesus Christ. Key Scriptures: Revelation 3:10; Revelation 4:1; Genesis 5–7; John 14:1–3; Acts 1:9–11; Luke 21:36; Luke 17:26–30; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9 If you have questions about Matthew 24, the elect, or the last trumpet, stay tuned—those are exactly what we address next.
