    Deal or No Deal

Click this link to send feedback or suggestions directly to me! Season 3 Episode 27 -- Remember the TV game show entitled "Deal or No Deal," which debuted in late 2005?  In this game, the contestants tried to end up with the case that has the million dollars in it, instead of a case with a much lower amount of money. Often times the contestants would accept a good offer of hundreds of thousands of dollars to stop their quest for the million dollars. But what if you were a contestant, and were able to know for certain where the million-dollar case was? Would you settle for an offer of $200,000 and stop, when you could continue and with certainty get the million dollars instead? Of course not!  Yet that is what we do so often in real life.  Listen to this episode and find out what I mean. Is Suffering Really a Privilege?

Click this link to send feedback or suggestions directly to me! Season 3 Episode 23 -- I have been pondering this verse recently:   "For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for Him." (Philippians 1:29)   The original language says that the word translated as "privilege" means literally "kind and gracious gift."  Really?  Is suffering really a “privilege” – a kind, gracious gift from God?  This led me to further study and reflection, and I gained a better understanding of what this does (and does not) mean.  Curious to know what I found out?  Then listen to this episode!
