    This week, we're sitting down with licensed clinical mental health therapist, Dr. Natalie Atwell, and we're going deep. Dr. Atwell has been practicing for over twenty years, but recently, she and her team have begun noticing a troubling pattern in their patients- something darker than standard mental health symptoms. As a devout Christian, she found herself asking if perhaps there was a spiritual component at play.     Ep. 141 - The Common Thread of Evil Behind the Headlines

    This week, we examine what feels like an accelerating departure from the principles of freedom and individual liberty. We begin by looking at the steady erosion of those principles over the past several decades, including the expansion of government power following the Patriot Act, and ask whether the events unfolding today represent another step in that progression. We then catch up on several major headlines, including Massachusetts policies surrounding parental notification and gender identity in schools, Bill Gates’ push for AI as a potential “great equalizer,” controversial comments from a North Carolina political candidate regarding Trump supporters, the debate surrounding supporters of convicted child killer Lindsay Clancy, and the Trump administration’s proposed $2.8 billion arms sale to Israel that includes 40,000 2,000-pound bombs. From there, the conversation moves beyond individual headlines to examine a larger question: is there a recurring pattern behind the forces shaping society? We trace what we describe as a persistent thread of evil running from the Old Testament through modern times and discuss how the biblical conflict between good and evil can provide a framework for understanding the events unfolding around us. The episode ultimately turns toward the spiritual battle that we believe exists beneath the political, cultural, and technological conflicts of our time.
