29: ATTACHMENT STYLES. The key to understanding our relationship behaviour, healing toxic patterns, and creating better boundaries with licensed therapist Lauren Walsh

What if you could show up in your relationships feeling completely secure? What if you could know that you’re enough, exactly as you are? Chances are you’ve come across the term ‘attachment style’ before - whether we’re aware of it or not, most of us default to one of 4 main attachment types: secure (the holy grail!) anxious, avoidant or anxious-avoidant (also known as fearful avoidant, or disorganized.) If you’ve ever found yourself caught in unhealthy relationship cycles, repeating the same patterns over and over and not understanding why, chances are your attachment style is to blame. The good news? We CAN change. In this episode, licensed therapist Lauren Walsh is back to explain attachment theory and break down how understanding the root cause of our behaviour is the key to finally being able to rewrite the patterns keeping us stuck. Because we ALL deserve healthy relationships - with others and most importantly, with ourselves. TOPICS WE COVER: -The main attachment styles and the different characteristics of each -How starting to truly understand our attachment style can help us begin to rewrite unhealthy relationship patterns  -Inner child healing and the role understanding our attachment style plays in helping heal childhood wounds -People pleasing - the role attachment style plays in people pleasing tendencies both in and out of romantic relationships -The common signs that someone is giving too much or losing themselves in a relationship because of an anxious attachment style  -How we can set - and maintain - proper boundaries when we have an anxious or avoidant attachment style, particularly when we get pushback from the people around us -Navigating a dating scene that’s more geared towards short-term connections if you’re someone who’s anxiously attached -How to spot the early signs of unhealthy attachment patterns in new relationships and start to course-correct -How we can take charge of our own healing and take steps to become more securely attached, so that we can attract healthy love, and become the best version of ourselves, FOR ourselves And SO much more! 23: CHOOSING A DIFFERENT PATH. Starting over when 'success' doesn't bring fulfilment, with Lindsey Jane Gordon.

What does ‘fulfilment’ look like when we’re not chasing the traditional milestones? When we’re not interested in the timelines and the conventional ‘successes’ that we’ve been so conditioned to believe equal happiness?  In this episode, I’m talking to Lyndsey Jane Gordon, writer, and creator of ‘The Other Way’ blog and podcast series, who, despite having an incredibly successful life ‘on paper’ walked away from a high-flying finance career with a salary and a glamorous expat lifestyle in Singapore to match. This is Lindsey’s story of trusting the niggle when you KNOW you want more, giving YOURSELF permission to explore and create your own path…and starting over from your childhood bedroom to build a community of thousands who are choosing to live life ‘the other way.’ If you’ve ever wondered if it’s ok to make different choices, to take a different path - you’re not on your own and this is the episode for you. TOPICS WE COVER: -Why fear of judgment is still the number one thing that stops us from making changes and how we can start to work through our fears and beliefs to create a life that’s in alignment with what we truly value -How to tune into your own guidance and hear your own voice in the noise of other people's opinions -How to deal with the external pressure of the timelines and conventional milestones while creating a life that feels authentic to YOU -Navigating dating and dealing with stereotypes as a woman who is child-free by choice -What ‘fulfilment’ and having a full life look like when you’re not chasing the traditional milestones -Practical steps on how we can start to create change and move in the direction of the life we want to live, even when it feels like we don’t have options And so much more… Until next time X Resources: OUR GUEST: Lyndsey Jane Gordon is a writer and creator of 'The Other Way, with Lindsey,' where she shares real-time reflections on her own unique journey, to help inspire others to embrace their curiosities and follow their own fulfilment.
