Where To Be A Woman
Where can women live their best lives? Scaachi Koul and Sophia Smith Galer are pushing past the latest wellness fads to search the globe for the best wellbeing ideas. Each episode hears from two countries about something they are doing well and Scaachi and Sophia choose what they like for their imaginary fantasy land - because we can’t build what we can’t imagine. Topics up for discussion include where women are most likely to have the best body image, do the most equal share of the housework, get the best maternity leave or even where they’re most likely to be celebrated by having a statue made of them. I love the perspectives and thoughtful questions. I am a really big policy person so I love hearing about the different gender-inclusive policies advancing women’s rights! I’ve recommended this podcast to all of the humans in my life!
It’s supposed to be about women

I didn’t listen to all the podcasts, as I was getting annoyed with the regular input about LGBT++. I wanted to hear about impacts on women, changes for women, how women are moving forward, safety for women, not how it is for non-women. Yes, I did learn about different countries, which is why I gave it 3 stars. Some episodes were great! But too much of the ‘+’ for me. Also, the set up of the interviews bugged me. When the interviewee was talking, it could be good.
So interesting and inspiring!!!

What a beautiful mix of voices and perspectives. I love BBC, and thrilled to discover this gem. The quality journalism that takes a magnifying glass to culture and asks intelligent questions. So excited and definitely hooked on this.

What about reproductive freedom? Access to education? Childcare? What about housing and the ability to support oneself and children on one income if necessary? What about domestic violence and how it is responded to?
