    Episode 310 - Luke 24:13-24 - Disciples vs Apostles

In this episode the hosts mix friendly, down‑home conversation with a careful look at Luke 24:13–35 (a two‑part reading). They set the scene by sharing life updates—family time, a post‑work bocce outing with brothers—and then dive into the biblical account of Cleopas and his companion walking to Emmaus. The episode reads the Scripture, highlights how Jesus joined the travelers yet was not immediately recognized, and explores why the disciples missed the significance of the resurrection while focused on disappointment and dashed hopes. The hosts unpack key details, compare disciples and apostles, and reflect on how fellowship and attentive hearts help us recognize Jesus today. Listeners are encouraged to look for God in everyday encounters, to share the gospel naturally, and to trust the Holy Spirit for words and wisdom when opportunities arise. The episode closes with a prayer and a simple invitation to take a walk with someone and share the good news. Episode 309 - Luke 24:1-12 - Like God

This episode walks through Luke 24 and the Easter morning discovery: women arrive at the tomb, find the stone rolled away, and hear from angels that Jesus is risen. Peter rushes to see for himself, and the group begins to remember Jesus’ predictions about his death and resurrection. The hosts highlight the overlooked people in the story—like Joanna—and how the disciples initially struggled to believe the strange, wonderful news. They reflect on how memory, fear, and hope played into that first chaotic morning. Then the episode explains why the resurrection matters: it proves Jesus’ victory over death, brings hope and redemption, and gives authority and purpose to the church. The hosts connect the event to real life, showing how God can turn painful situations into something better, sometimes into greatness. Finally, the episode closes with prayer and an invitation to encounter the risen Christ, encouraging listeners to look for God’s life and power even in the midst of sorrow and uncertainty. Episode 308 - Luke 23:44-56 - Friday, April 3, A.D. 33

This episode is a thoughtful study of Luke 23, where the hosts dive into the final hours of Jesus’ life: the darkness at midday, the torn temple curtain, and his last words. They reflect on the depth of Christ’s sacrifice, the mercy he showed even while suffering, and the powerful image of God bridging the gap between humanity and himself. The conversation highlights eyewitness details like the centurion’s declaration, the earthquake, and the burial provided by Joseph of Arimathea, along with the faithful presence of the women followers. The hosts also draw personal insights—seeing life as seasons, wrestling with guilt and redemption, and the overwhelming love behind the cross. Closing with prayer and hope, the episode points ahead to the tomb and promises the resurrection to come, encouraging listeners to remember, reflect, and share the good news. Episode 307 - Luke 23:35-43 - Man on the Middle Cross

In this episode we start with a light personal anecdote about coffee and missing honey, then move into a reading and discussion of Luke 23:35–43. The hosts walk through the crucifixion scene where Jesus is mocked, a sign labels him "King of the Jews," and two criminals hang beside him—one who taunts and one who turns in faith. The conversation focuses on the powerful moment when the dying criminal asks Jesus to remember him, and Jesus replies, "Today you will be with me in paradise." The hosts explore themes of grace, last‑minute salvation, the difference between faith and works, and the assurance that Jesus sees the heart and extends mercy even at the end of life. They also touch on historical details like Pilate’s sign, the uniqueness of Jesus’ crucifixion, and how this story illustrates that it’s never too late to turn to Christ, while encouraging listeners not to delay faith. Practical notes include an explanation of baptism as a symbol and a recommendation of Alistair Begg’s sermon "The Man on the Middle Cross." The episode closes with a heartfelt prayer and an invitation to accept Jesus, reminding listeners that heaven will be paradise and encouraging them to share this hope with others. Episode 306 - Luke 23:26-34 - Love at the Point of Brokenness

This episode walks through Luke 23:26–34, recounting Jesus being led to his crucifixion, Simon of Cyrene forced to carry the cross, and the sorrowful crowd that followed. Hosts unpack key moments: Jesus’ warning to the daughters of Jerusalem, the significance of the green-and-dry tree imagery, and the historical details of Golgotha and Roman executions. They reflect on Jesus’ extraordinary love and forgiveness—most powerfully expressed when he prays, "Father, forgive them"—and how the soldiers casting lots for his clothes fulfilled prophecy. The episode connects these events to the bigger picture of redemption, urging listeners to receive God’s grace and share the good news. Episode 305 - Luke 23:13-25 - Fear and Peer Pressure

This episode walks through Luke 23:13–25 and the trial of Jesus, focusing on Pilate’s repeated declarations of Jesus’ innocence and the crowd’s demand to release Barabbas instead. The hosts read the passage, share historical and textual insights, and reflect on the meaning of Barabbas’s name and the irony of an innocent man taking another’s place. They discuss the political pressures Pilate faced, the brutality Jesus endured (including flogging), and how fear and peer pressure can lead people—even leaders—to compromise what is right. Personal reflections, prayer, and practical application about standing firm in faith and the living nature of Scripture punctuate the conversation. Through scripture, footnotes, and personal stories, the episode highlights Jesus’s sacrificial love, the depth of the gospel message, and encouragement to hold to truth despite social or political consequences. Episode 304 - Luke 23:1-12 - Not Guilty for the Guilty

In this episode we walk through Luke 23 and the paired hearings that put Jesus on trial: the charge before Pilate and the unique account of his visit before Herod. The religious leaders press accusations of trying to stir things up and tax resistance, Pilate repeatedly finds no basis for a charge, and Herod—curious and mocking—returns Jesus to Pilate. We highlight Jesus’ quiet, humble response amid unfair proceedings, how political rivalry and legal procedures were used to secure his death, and why Luke’s account emphasizes these moments. The episode also notes historical details, like archaeological evidence for Pontius Pilate, and explains the broader meaning: Jesus bore a trial we deserved so we could be reconciled to God. Reflect on the themes of injustice, humility, and sacrificial love as we consider why Jesus willingly faced these hearings and what that means for us today. Episode 303 - Luke 22:54-71 - When Remorse Sets In

In this episode we unpack Luke 22:54–71, the painful scene where Peter denies Jesus three times, hears the rooster crow, and weeps bitterly. The hosts reflect on the human tendency to fail under pressure, the sting of disappointment when we let down those we love, and the depth of Jesus’ sorrow and mercy. They also cover Jesus’ appearance before the council, his affirmation of being the Son of God, and how the religious leaders interpret that claim as blasphemy. Through commentary and insights, the episode emphasizes repentance, the healing power of forgiveness, and how even failure can shape and refine leaders like Peter. Practical takeaways include a call to confess sin early, rely on God’s strength rather than self-reliance, and remember that redemption and restoration are possible when we turn back to Christ.
