Episode 35: Why You’ve Lost Trust in Yourself (And How to Rebuild It) - A solo episode with Ro

In this episode, Ro explores why so many women lose trust in themselves during midlife - and why it’s not a motivation or confidence problem. Through personal stories and nervous system insight, Ro explains how chronic overload, broken self-promises, and lack of support quietly erode self-trust over time. She shares how rebuilding trust starts with safety, capacity, boundaries, and small commitments you can actually keep. This episode is for any woman who feels stuck, flat, or unsure of herself and wants a gentler, more sustainable way to move forward. What You’ll Learn Why self-trust fades during busy, overloaded life seasonsHow your nervous system affects motivation and follow-throughThe role of capacity, energy, and boundaries in rebuilding confidenceWhy starting small is essential for lasting changeHow support and community help you stay consistent without burnoutKey Takeaway You’re not failing -  your system has been protecting you.  Self-trust is rebuilt through safety and follow-through, not pressure. Mentioned in This Episode Ro references RISE, an 8-week progressive strength and nervous system programme designed for overloaded midlife women, with new groups starting monthly. Enjoyed the Episode? Episode 33: What it takes to truly RISE - Why midlife needs a different approach

What does it really take to feel strong, steady and well again in this season of life? In this episode, I share why midlife is a different game when it comes to strength, energy and wellbeing and why so many women feel frustrated that what used to work no longer does. We explore how hormones, stress and the nervous system affect your energy, motivation and recovery and why pushing harder often leads to burnout rather than progress. I also share honestly from my own experience of being at full capacity and what has genuinely helped me feel calmer, steadier and more supported again. This conversation is about learning to work with your body rather than fighting it and understanding that you are not the problem. The rules have changed and when we adapt to them, everything starts to feel more manageable. RISE is my 8 week method designed specifically for women in this season of life. It combines supportive strength training, nervous system and mindset tools and simple nutrition guidance to help you build energy and confidence in a way that fits real life. The next RISE cohort starts on Monday 19th January.  You can find out more and join here:  https://www.theshecollective.co.uk/rise Thank you for listening and if this episode helped, please share it with someone who might need it too.
