#4: How self care can change your life

This episode is all about self care. I am talking to my dear-hearted friend Noémie Causse. Noémie and I connected through our Bikram yoga practice in Berlin, going to the same studio many times per week. Noémie is the self care queen, because she has been in the wellbeing and self care industry for many years, guiding dogma free meditation, yoga, breath work and sound healing sessions and retreats. She is also a life coach, who is home in Berlin and right now traveling in Sri Lanka. Noémie's mission is to share meditation as a practice that is available for everyone and that it is so much more than just sitting down in silence. In this episode we talk about how Noémie's old, unhealthy patterns and mistreatment of herself lead her to start her own self care journey. We talk about how we all can find out, which self care methods are the right ones for us, what it means to treat ourselves well and to understand ourselves better. We are taking a critically look at the terminology „healing“ and how it is connected to self care, the importance of setting boundaries and we are exploring the topic self care addiction and how to find balance in your day-to-day routines. #3: Career Transition into UX Design: How to manage anxiety

Changing careers is hard. It goes along with different uncomfortable emotions like anxiety and stress and its really easy to find yourself overworked by the amount of new stuff you have to learn, and then to actually get hired. Many of you might not know this yet: I am also a career changer and I have been in IT since the last three years. Nowadays I am not only working as a UXUI designer but also as a mentor, supporting people in their challenging career transition.  Giulia has been my mentee for one and a half years and she recently landed her very first UXUI position. I supported Giulia along the way by sharing my own personal experiences, how to create a kick ass portfolio, resume and the struggles and learnings when I broke into the Design Industry.  In this episode we are talking about the real struggles when changing careers, anxiety, stress and methods that can help you stay sane and motivated in this very tough time. We touch upon the importance of sharing with others, finding the right people to talk to and times when its important NOT to listen what industry experts have to tell you.  Tools that helped Giulia navigate the career transition: https://careerfoundry.com/en/blog/ux-design/the-difference-between-ux-and-ui-design-a-laymans-guide/ https://blog.prototypr.io/9-steps-how-to-become-a-ux-ui-designer-if-you-do-not-have-a-work-experience-and-a-degree-15c488824c81 https://www.youtube.com/@rachelhow/videos Connect with us on Instagram Connect with Kat on Instagram Connect with ReDI school Thank you for being here 3
