    New Jersey, Old Jerseys (with John Devlin) - A QPR Kit Korner Special

    International break means no games to cover or preview, but at QPR NYC The Podcast, we've still got you covered. This week, we're getting shirty! Our kit officianado Ant, and Dun are joined by a very special guest, renowned football kit expert John Devlin, author and illustrator behind the celebrated True Colours book series and the excellent Hoops Through History. John has dedicated his life to documenting the evolution of football shirt design, from classic club kits of the 1980s and 90s to historic international strips.  His True Colours book series are the definitive guide to club and international kits. Hoops Through History traces the history of Queens Park Rangers kits; from the University Blues halved shirt at our origins, through the Celtic-influenced years of green and white through to the iconic blue and white hoops that are intrinsic to our identity. John's work on the book really gave him an insight into what the hoops means to our identity and it has left a lasting impression on him. "In all my years of illustrating and writing about football kits I honestly don’t think I’ve come across a club whose supporters have such a fond attachment and pride in their home strip. It’s an integrity the club also uphold with all designs coming from the club themselves and their deep understanding of just what those hoops mean." It was such a privilege to speak with him about our kit history, the book and his passion for kit design. We hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed speaking with John.

    Man Down...at Loftus Road and in Upstate New York

    Well...We made it, we survived the batchelor party and live to retell the tale. Your regular host Andy, is busy with work. So the Stag, Ant, is in the hotseat and joined by Dun and Designated Driver and Batchelor party Dad, Bill. We picked some game to start the celebrations... - QPR PTSD kicks in ahead of the game - Then Harvey Vale gets injured in the warm up - Sigh... - First symptoms identified 20 seconds in - They've scored too early right? - Amplified 15 minutes in as Cirkin sees red - Full blown PTSD 26 minutes as Kenny slams home the second - A Hyrox endurance race of a first half - Stephan makes changes leading to a very different second half as QPR dominate chances and possession with 10 men - Kwame's first goal in front of the Loft gives us relief...and hope - Preston hit the bar... - Lloyd's unlucky couple of minutes - Smythy pings in a cracker in the 90th minute - Cue pandemonium in the stadium and a living room in upstate New York - Iversen keeps out Madsen's free kick to earn the point - Not all points are the same. This really did feel like a win. - QPR show some balls. Balls also seen in the living room... - Way more positives than negatives - Cory Adjetey-Brew is very much better off on loan as he proves his worth to Worthing. - A well recieved club forum. What a pressure applied to a certain young player and water pressure. The ball is in your court Rayan - What are they feeding the kids at Bolton? Raw meat? - No break for our players as they head off on international break. - A This Week in Newburghing special. We remember some lads celebrating Ant's upcoming nuptuals, one of us might not remember though - Busy week in NYC as the UN is in town and Mayor and President meet at the mansion - Jets are Jetsy, but not as Jetsy as usual and the Giants are but down to size by the Rams, and lose their QB for the season. Why can't the Giants have nice things? - We remember some loans as Andros Townsend has a flat performance following an argument with a pitch roller - Kit Korner Interna...Wait! We check out a very flash Ant Originals creation. - Lovely stuff is really lovely as we pay tribute to the power of a muse. The incredibly lovely Sarah. - It's all Greek to Jacob, as he submits from his vacation. - But he also sent a surprise for Ant... Rate, review, send best wishes to Ant in the comments.     Volleying Cats at the Valley

    Your host Andy, regulars Ant and Dun are joined by some technical gremlins this week to help them for the second consecutive double gameweek. Nathan Jones on the other hand. - Dun's cat Luna is not impressed with Nathan Jones' post match comments - The pitchmonster joined us on the trip as we lose Lamptey and Dunne during the game - A trip to the Hawthorns with a thinning squad fails to reach the heights. - An awful Kit Klash makes a tough game tough to watch. - A Heggeboo-boo, as the Norwegian striker misses from close range. Heggeboo-hoo. - Always great to see a QPR fan score for the R's as Chris Mepham Scott Sterlings a ball into the back of the net - Three minutes later, West Brom scores a stylish goal of their own - R's fail to pay the Price as Isaac pulls the strings, but to no avail. - 2 away games, 2 away points, still unbeaten away - Great football dos Lack of goals a concern - The injuries are taking their toll. Are we ever properly cooked? - The international break can't come quickly enough - A tribute to Ludek Miklosko - Is that a Justin Obikwu sighting? and who is that coming on for the Dev Squad - Scarlett fever?     Taking a shot at Tequila

    Your host Andy, Ant (resplendent in his wedding hype chain)and Dun have a look at the most one sided 0-0 of the 21st century, and their usual other nonsense - Bonham frustrates the R’s to the finish           - Our finishing frustrates the R’s faithful- A one on one in slow motion  – A Dykeslike performance- Vale can’t prevail – heads straight at keeper- Beautiful football but all foreplay but no penetration- But Bolton still show us their Dong in the 67th minute- Quadruple substitution alert!     Chair The Destroyer Anchors Aweigh Win at Pompey

    Water way to start the season! A trip to the south coast sees the R's set sail on HMS Pis...You know the rest! Your host Andy, Ant and Dun by a very special guest, Young Ben Gillo from the Development Squad who makes his debut and the first of many appearances. We get into - R's navigate a tricky opening Aweigh at Portsmouth - A goal that was hard to fathom as Devlin strikes a devil of a shot past Charles - Boy Injured but R's bouyed by Keeley's performance. - Hydration regeneration as the R's wake up and Pompey ship 3 goals in 15 minutes - Illy's Sharp display watched by Avast crowd including Billy Sharp - Charles has us all Back to Front as R's a tack surges through Pompey's defence, tying them up in knots. - Vale sails a ball over the defence, and Chair bears down notching from a yard out - Koki barges through and makes it two, via a deflection. - Illy's tally doubles leaving Pompey in trouble as the defence springs another leak before the break. A Mast-erful display from the Moroccan - Kamara, a midfield anchor, takes the wind our of Portsmouth sails. We like the cut of his jib - Skipper Jimmy Dunne and JCS shore up the backline - Lloyd and Smyth, the Press Gang, bringing the energy off the bench - Stephan happy at the helm, but demands more from the team - Kone, amongst the unused Subs. - Dun eats humble pie baked at a gas mark of egg on his face - QPR: Officially busy b*stards now - First opening day win in 6 season...You know what that means...SOUND THE HORN - Tylon is shipping up to Boston to join New England's Revolution, Jaylen is going to learn the Hollo-Way at Swindon.     Hey! Andy's back! He's joined by Ant and Dun and they have the most QPR of QPR cup exits to discuss, and predict the Pompey away game - Millwall. A tough draw ends with a tough draw - A first half of zero consequence - A livelier second half with two early season goals - Mbengue fails to clear but... - Charles fails to Kling on - Own goal to the rescue again, new set piece coach earns his corn - Saito tripped in the box, no? - Not long to wait for penalties though - Dun's prophesy comes true. QPR do not slot from the spot - Chair, Saito, Vale and Poku all see their efforts saved by Behemoth Jensen. - 2-0 is the most dangerous scorelines in penalty shoot-outs - QPR can concentrate on the league, before the league has even started - The positives, and the negatives (Pierce Charles may appear in both) - Highly rated but oft-injured left back Dennis Cirkin signs on a free - Tylon Smith, part of our youth revolution, off on loan to New England Revolution? - Where do we finish this season?
