The Bible Unbound - Book of Revelation

Unravel with us, the profound and mysterious narratives that lie within the pages of the world's most revered text: The Bible. Our current series:  The book of Revelation Statement of Faith The Bible: We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). The Trinity: We believe in one eternal God, existing in three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in essence, power, and glory (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). God the Father: We believe God the Father is the Creator and Sovereign Ruler of all things, perfect in holiness, justice, love, and mercy (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:19; Isaiah 6:3). Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in power and glory (John 1:1-14; Luke 1:34-35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16). Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells, empowers, and guides them into all truth, and seals them for salvation (John 16:7-13; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 1:13; Acts 1:8). Humanity and Sin: We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam’s disobedience, resulting in spiritual death and total depravity. All people are born sinners, separated from God, and in need of salvation (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12). Salvation: We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a gift of God, not by works, secured through Jesus’ atoning death and resurrection. Repentance and faith are necessary for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10). The Church: We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers, called to worship God, edify one another, and proclaim the Gospel to the world. The Church observes two ordinances: believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Ephesians 4:11-13). Sanctity of Life and Marriage: We believe human life is sacred, beginning at conception, and that marriage is a God-ordained covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s relationship with the Church (Psalm 139:13-14; Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33). Resurrection and Judgment: We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved—those who are saved to eternal life with God, and those who are unsaved to eternal punishment in hell (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15). Second Coming: We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom, judge the world, and consummate God’s redemptive plan (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:12-13).

The Book of Revelation #103: Rev 16 EXODUS TO ARMAGEDDON - (1)

Send a text In this episode, we observe 5 (of 6) principles that undergird the unfolding of the Seven Bowls of God's final wrath.   We will resume next week with a close examination of the controversial but crucial narrative of Armageddon.  These five undergirding principles will help pave the way for us. REVELATION 16 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”  2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.  3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse, and every living thing died that was in the sea.  4 The third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel in charge of the waters say,  “Just are you, O Holy One, who is and who was,  for you brought these judgments.  6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,  and you have given them blood to drink.  It is what they deserve!”  7 And I heard the altar saying,  “Yes, Lord God the Almighty,  true and just are your judgments!”  8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.  10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish 11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.  12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. 13 And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. 14 For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. 15 (“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) 16 And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.  17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. 19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found. 21 And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, fell from heaven on people; and If you wish to contact me with any comments, questions, suggestions, etc please feel free to write to my email: jmrgrs9@gmail.com

The Book of Revelation #101: 15:1-6 THE GLASSY SEA - THE TWO GREAT DELIVERANCES

Send us a text Today we peer onto the shore of the abyss (sea) and trace out how the abyss became a glassy sea and the place of deliverance -- first from Egypt, and then from sin. This portion of the book of Revelation previews John's final 7-structured narrative, the seven plagues (bowls) of the final wrath of God. Revelation 15:1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.  2 And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. 3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,  “Great and amazing are your deeds,  O Lord God the Almighty!  Just and true are your ways,  O King of the nations!  4 Who will not fear, O Lord,  and glorify your name?  For you alone are holy.  All nations will come  and worship you,  for your righteous acts have been revealed.”  5 After this I looked, and the sanctuary of the tent of witness in heaven was opened, 6 and out of the sanctuary came the seven angels with the seven plagues, clothed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes around their chests. The Book of Revelation #100: 15:1-6 TAMING THE FIERY ABYSS

Send us a text Today we start a brand new vision of the Apostle John -- that of the seven bowls of wrath.   Having seen the visions of the 7 churches, 7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 thunders, we now come to John's final 7-structured narrative.   The taming of the abyss (sea) is the focus of today's episode. The Book of Revelation #98: 14:6-13 - THE THREE ANGELS & THEIR JUDGMENT DAY MESSAGES

Send us a text Once again, we venture into the heavenly IMAX to witness three mighty angels and their judgment day messages to the earth.   This is a sobering harbinger of what we find described in the next section which shows the great day of judment depicted as a harvest of grain and a harvest of vintage grapes.    REVELATION 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”  8 Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.”  9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”  12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.  13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”  If you wish to contact me with any comments, questions, suggestions, etc please feel free to write to my email: jmrgrs9@gmail.com
