Ep. 7 - Advocating for yourself in the medical system

Here is a sinpet of my course. Here is a little bit of evidence, I cover in the course: Strong evidence supports skin-to-skin contact after birth as standard care https://www.cochrane.org/about-us/news/strong-evidence-supports-skin-skin-contact-after-birth-standard-care?fbclid=IwY2xjawR2qglleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFnck5MeFN1eFh4WEFlMnNjc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHu8hwEd8jXNBAPVpQVW2Xx9p3egQikJum5bwVQXP2MIX8Je2AjyRwsTqAap9_aem_O8qDRSkocMKnYdf-23qnsg This article highlights massive global data proving why skin-to-skin contact (often called Kangaroo Care) should be standard care for all healthy newborns immediately after delivery. It improves rates of breastfeeding and length of breastfeeding, stabilizes vital signs and blood sugars for the newborn, lowers stress and pain (Lowers stress hormones and crying) and promotes deep emotional bonding and decreases risk of postpartum bleeding. There is so much evidence to have skin to skin with a baby that it is now considered unethical not to provide it. Ep. 6 - An Update on Maternal Death Rates in Canada

As of May 2026, there has been more awareness about the increase of MMR. The SOGC has come out in June of 2026 saying that MMR has been increasing for 30 yrs. Why the silence for 30 yrs? There is a committee being formed now: https://sogc.org/en/en/content/events/HUB-Pages/Prevention_of_Maternal_Mortality_in_Canada.aspx Looking at data is bringing awareness to the cause in increased mortality. https://www.thinkglobalhealth.org/article/the-mysterious-rise-in-canadas-maternal-mortality I unbamboozle and continue to push for transparency and enumerate some first steps in the stop of MMR. It is a privilege to be alive and speak and make a fool out of one self for the purpose of something BEYOND IMPORTANT! Statistics are NOT statistics! They are people! _________________ Stay connected, subscribe or follow me On instagram: @lyanne.pinto On spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1VExN1mFc5dY... Ep.5 -The Importance of the Support Person: What Doku and Pierron Revealed About Birth and Womanhood

When French journalist France Pierron called birth "a disgusting moment where the dad is completely useless," she sparked a conversation that goes far deeper than she could have imagined. In this episode of From The Heart, Lyanne reflects on what that comment really reveals — not just about one woman's opinion, but about the shame so many of us have inherited and what we deserve. With over a thousand births attended, Lyanne shares why the presence of a support person isn't just nice to have — it's crucial. This episode explores: - What it really means to show up — physically, emotionally, and mentally - Why strength doesn't require competition, and why choosing family is never useless  @fifa   @Jeremy_Doku   @francepierron  _________________ Stay connected, subscribe or follow meOn instagram: @lyanne.pintoOn spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1VExN1mFc5dY...On Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/from...
