Middle School Madness

Listening to the episode from last year about having some halfway policy about phone use. Absolutely do not agree that either one of you should encourage students to use their phones, ever. Are you naive in thinking the behavior that happens at lunch stays out of the classroom with your lenient and way-too-nuanced policies around phone use? These kids are using their phones all the time. They are addicted. You finding time for them to use it is irresponsible. These are people with black and white thinking. Their minds and decision-making processes are nascent. They cannot control their usage the way an adult who was taught without the phone can. Stop advocating for the phone, ever.
