    Russ O’Connell is a distinguished photographic director and picture editor with over two decades of experience in the UK media landscape. Since June 2015, he has served as Picture Editor of The Sunday Times Magazine, renowned for its pioneering use of photography and commitment to high-quality visual storytelling. Russ began his career at Heat magazine in the early 2000s, a time marked by the transition from analog to digital photography. He later became Photo Director at Q magazine, where he was instrumental in producing and art-directing shoots with major music artists. He subsequently held the role of Photographic Director at British GQ, further refining his skills in high-end editorial photography. In addition to his editorial work, Russ has contributed to the broader photography community as a judge for prestigious competitions such as the Sony World Photography Awards and the BJP International Photography Award.     Dave chats to David Montgomery a celebrated award-winning international photographer. Having produced some of the most iconic images of the sixties, he is internationally renowned as one of the most legendary photographers of all time. Settings fires with Jimi Hendrix, The Queens two bar heater, his love of real fog, handling on set tension and an insight into his technical and creative process. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended photography courses run by Alexi Brodevitch and worked for the award-winning photographer Lester Bookbinder for four years, following Bookbinder to England in the early 1960’s.
