Ep. 4 - TEARS FLOWING & SINGING - Exploring Akhand Kirtan with the AKJ

Kirtan Fi Sikh Music Podcast Episode 4 - Sangat Ji in this podcast episode, we converse about the Akhand Kirtan Jatha with Bhai Jujar Singh Ji & Bhai Kamaljt Singh Ji.  Bhai Jujhar Singh Ji is the great grandson of Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji, who is known as the founder of the Akhand Kirtan Jatha.  We touch briefly on Bhai Sahibs Jeevan, how it all started, the musicality of the Akhand Kirtan style and more generally the Jatha in more depth in the past all the way to today. Upon reflection, what I most appreciated about this conversation was the willingness to share the story of the Jatha and be open to conversation on some of the misconceptions I have certainly heard about the jatha on my journey so far, as well as the unique musicality of the Jatha Kirtan and the understanding of the Khalsa Panth as a diverse multi-jathebandi Dharam.   Albeit each Jathebandi has many great virtues (gunn) who all provide a unique service to the Panth in their own unique and beautiful way.  We mustn’t forget that the one thing that keeps us together is the Guru - Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. I feel this conversation presents a sincere undertone for panthic oneness and prosperity and I trust you will probably feel this too. Special thanks to Bhai Rashpal Singh Ji for the additional information and background work to make this episode happen! Massive thank you Sangat TV for providing me the space to have this discussion.  Please forgive us for any mistakes and please hit like and comment your thoughts as well as sharing this episode with those who may benefit from it and to help this podcast grow.
