    Are Solar Panels Worth It in Oklahoma? (Cost, Payback, Incentives)

    My OG&E bill is $15 a month. Before solar, I was paying $120-$130 in the summer. So is solar a slam dunk? Not so fast. In this episode, I break down my real numbers from installing solar on my own Oklahoma home in 2023 like what I paid, what I saved, and how long it's actually taking me to break even (spoiler: it's not the 9-15 years the solar companies quote). I also cover the single biggest thing that's changed since I went solar: the federal tax credit that helped make my numbers work is gone for anyone buying today, and I run the math on what that means for your payback period. We also get into the part almost nobody talks about... what happens to your solar loan when you sell your house. Solar companies will tell you the loan is "assumable." It usually isn't, and it can seriously cut into your profit at closing.
